The defending champion beat Nay Thway with frames of 33-100, 100-61, 12-101, 101-4, 100-45. Earlier in the day, Advani beat another Myanmar cueist Oo Kyaw Oo with the same score-line, 3-2 in the semi-finals. The 25-year-old former world professional champion beat Kyaw with frames of 100-28, 0-100, 100-77, 11-100, 101-0.

Advani won his first world championship title in 2003 IBSF World Snooker Championship in China and is the only player to achieve a feat of winning both the points and timed formats at the IBSF World Billiards Championships. He repeated this feat twice, first in 2005 IBSF World Billiards Championships and then in 2008 at Championships held in Bangalore.

Among other Indians at the Games, Alok Kumar advanced to the semi-finals of the men's 8-ball pool with a 7-4 win over Ricky Yang of Indonesia after he was trailing behind 0-2 but he fought his way back into the match winning the next six games on a trot to make it 6-2 and eventually winning by 7-4.
However, compatriot Sumit Talwar lost 4-7 to Afrinneza Irsal Nasution in another quarter-finals tie.

Alok Kumar will now face Kuo Po-cheng of Chinese Taipei in the semi-final.
