iSport Force India Headgear Competition

iSport has always brought to you the best F1 coverage. (if you've not already visited http://f1.isport.in then you've missed out on some great content) We’ve also had our loyal iSporters contributing their opinions on our website and that is exactly what we are all about!

iSport is also out to celebrate Indian sporting achievements. We’ve seen various interviews with sporting greats like Leander Paes, Saina Nehwal, Pankaj Advani, Mc Mary Kom, etc. – all of whom have brought laurels to the country in their sport. However, this time there’s a team that we’re out to celebrate for. The Force India Formula1 team!

The Force India F1 team is India’s first and only foray into Formula1 and is managed by the liquor-baron Vijay Mallya. The FiF1 team has also grown strength to strength in the 2010 season and is currently 6th in the F1 Constructor’s Championship. Their drivers Adrian Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi have done their team and all Formula1 fans in India proud. But, now that we’ve told you about the FiF1 team, what is that we’re celebrating?

29th August 2010 is the day Force India F1 team will be competing in the Belgian Grand Prix. It was this same Grand Prix last year when the Indian F1 team scored their first ever podium finish. Their first year anniversary is exactly what we’re celebrating!

So what do you get? Participate in the contest, refer iSport to your friends and stand to win official Force India F1 team merchandise!! So what are you waiting for – it’s time to go iSport-ing! (Official Merchandise: Force India F1 Team cap, iSport t-shirts!)

You HAVE to be an iSporter to be able to play in the contest. (Click here to become an iSporter!)

Sports Psychology on iSport

‘Mind over matter’ is what we often hear in our life. While many of us believe in this phrase, there are a select few who actually make others believe in it.

iSport in its growing efforts to popularize sports and athletes brings to its readers one such person. iSport is proud to associate with Dr. Chaitanya Sridhar, a renowned sports psychologist from Bengaluru. Dr. Sridhar has done extensive work in the field of sports psychology and has worked with lesser known sports individuals and has helped them in their quest for glory.

Dr. Sridhar will pen her thoughts in her fortnightly column and they will focus more on the ‘mind’ than the matters in sport! iSport, do you?

iSport announces the

Dear iSporters,

Well the most-awaited decision is out again. What started as an easy decision to make has gradually become difficult with every month churning out ever-increasing amount of content. February is one of those months that boasts of exceptionally high number of articles and hence numerous contenders for “Writer of the Month”!

That is precisely why we have decided to award an additional writer each month in a separate category which we will call as "Writer of the Month: Editor's or Critic's choice". We recognize and appreciate the efforts of another equally good writer for the month whose articles may have got few hits less but who's work was different and creative.

We have also introduced certificates which the winners will receive shortly after the declaration each month.

We take pride in the kind of content we have been generating not only in terms of high number of articles but yet very clearly not compromising on quality! The credit goes to all you writers and before we announce the two individual names for the month, we would genuinely like to applaud each and every one of you! Many thanks!

Having said that we won't delay any more in our declarations! And so the award goes to...

iSporter Adam Bayfield as our "WoM". For exceptional quality of content combined with impressive readership!  Apart from our Indian writers, Adam Bayfield is our English counterpart. His articles were not just most "popular" but were of course great write-ups. His precision in writing, flow of thoughts, appropriate jargon and use of words has only heightened the number of hits on his articles! He has a unique angle each time he decides to pen a piece and it gives the Editor great joy to read his views and opinions! Our hearty congratulations to Adam!

And iSporter Jigar Mehta as our "WoM: Editor's choice". For his unique, unconventional and exceptionally creative style of writing! Using poetry as a medium of expression is a commendable skill. He has brought about a whole new content genre to iSport. This is to you for your talent and efforts!

Congratulations to you both! Keep 'em coming!

This has been an awesome month! And we wish to send our heartfelt thanks to all and one who participated. We look forward to your continued involvement with iSport. As they say, you may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won’t be worth a dime! So let's all work together in making iSport even bigger and better! :-)

iSport's Writer Of The Month - December

iSport's Writer Of The Month - December

December was the month of Cricket! While the Indian Cricket Team achieved the numero uno status in the Test Cricket, one of our cricket writers too made the most of the cricket fever in December.

iSport is proud to announce Issac John as the Writer of the Month for December 2009. The criteria was not only based on the number of hits his articles generated, but also the flow of thought. If the Cricket Editor's inputs are anything to go by, 'Issac's articles are a beauty to not only read, but also to edit. A very clear flow of thought and an apt selection of words. His articles are a must-read for the Cricket fans on iSport'.
