Commonwealth Games Day 9 - Indian Shooters Become Shooting Stars Of The Nation

Commonwealth Games Day 9 update : India got its 31st gold when shooters Heena Sidhu and Anu Raj Singh won the 10m Air Pistol pairs women's event after a dramatic tie between India, Australia and Canada.

It was Indian shooters who claimed the Gold after a series countback by a single shot. In the men's event, Samresh Jung and Chandrashekhar Kumar Choudhary had to contend with silver in 25m Standard Pistol pairs. Tejaswini Sawant was the third winner from the Shooting team when she won Silver in Singles 50m Rifle Prone. Gagan Narang and Hariom Singh finished 5th in 50m Rifle Pairs event.

In Table Tennis, India's Soumyadeep Roy advanced to the semifinal and will play Gao Ning of Singapore. India's Poulomi Ghatak and Mouma Das will meet Singaporean pair of Sun and Li in the semifinals.

The Indian Shuttlers have reached the semifinals of Men's Singles, Women's Singles and Double's events however the Indian Squash Mixed Double's pair of Saurav Ghosal and Joshna Chinnappa lost their quarterfinal match to Malaysian duo of Nicol David and Beng Hee Ong.
