iSporter Jigar Mehta is back with another poem, dedicating his latest to India's World Cup heroes who ended the nation's 28 year wait for a second trophy.

28 years, the wait was super long

But this time around my intuition was pretty strong.

The mission demanded we win it for Cricket's very own Don

And when it comes to him, can Team India do anything wrong?

The party had started with Bangladesh learning few important things

Viru's reply to Shakib: "mate it's not the tigers, but Indian lions who are the Kings!"

98th on the board, the run meter was going ballistic at the wicket

Two cracking centuries, a nerve-wracking tie, there was only one winner

Yes it was indeed 'cricket'!

Riding on O'Brien's shoulders, Ireland were confident to some degree

Yuvraj made sure the visitors did leave home early to enjoy their Irish tea!

Fighting from the front, Yuvi was in sublime touch

Blown away by the Yuvi-tide, this time it was the turn of poor Dutch!

Meter reading 99, the Master stood up to the occasion once again

Unlucky as he is all these years, his humongous efforts went in vain.

113, 2/18, the all-rounder's' Juggernaut didn't stop

Windies were made to dance to Yuvi's hip-hop, rock and pop!

Ponting's ton took three-time World Champions to the top

A yuvi-Raina Blitzkrieg made sure the Kangaroos were caught on the hop.

Sehwag went berserk, Sachin's batting was consummate

Afridi's men were out-classed by their dropping habits inveterate.

Defied all these years, luck was finally on Sachin's side

85 crucial runs made sure that it was indeed Boom Boom's last ride!

The Final frontier, on Jayawardene's century the Lankans did thrive

Luckily the finals did not miss out on the Master's straight drive!

With calmness of Gambhir and Captain Cool's brains applied

Not even the great Murali could stop the encroaching Indian tide!

Then came the moment, a moment of National pride

A six over long on and whole India joyfully cried!

Indeed it was for Sachin and it was long-overdue

Thanks for the Cup, Indeed the whole country bleeds Blue!

After T20 & Test Number 1 crown, World Cup win was yet another high

Having seen it all, I can say now that "I can peacefully die!"
