Following an article about why one of the iSporters started 'hating' Chelsea, yet another iSporter Suraj Kori comes with a counter piece in which he pens down his top 10 reasons on why he began 'hating' Manchester United and still 'hates' them..He would like a ‘civilized’ debate over his views as well..Read on..

Manchester United! Well, what should I say about this team? The name says it all…

They are the reigning EPL champions and they are also the runners-up of last Champions League. They have ‘N’ number of fans all around the world and I shouldn’t forget mentioning India. The team has got good players and a good coach too… If you begin to think I am penning down a piece on Manchester United’s achievement, glory and blah, blah, blah…You are wrong my friend! Here are the 10 reasons why I started hating Man Utd and ‘still’ hate Manchester United:

1. All the Man Utd fans are glory hunters! They follow Man Utd just because they have been winning. And everyone likes being on the winning side. With the growing craze of EPL there are a lot of discussions going around amidst friends about the EPL matches. And staying on the side of Man Utd won’t make you feel lonely as you have got a lot of support and fans are possibly oblivious of the fact that the rest of the clan also posses hardly any knowledge about the team.

2. Speaking of which, many of the Man Utd fans do not even know that Ronaldo has left the team and is now a part of Real Madrid. They still say that Ronaldo is their favorite player in the team. Ask them about Ronaldo’s first name and they would be blank. You want even more fun? Ask them at what position does Ronaldo play and they would be speechless.

3. What’s more…I genuinely doubt if most fans know anyone other than Rooney! Playing 11 is a far thing; they cannot even name 4 players in the team! They don’t even know the captain of their so called ‘favorite’ team Man Utd!

Man Utd fans usually say that they have a long history behind them and that is what they consider important. I personally think that it won’t take much time for people to say that it was history that Man Utd were champions and they used to win games…

4. Man Utd themselves spend a lot of money on their players and put the blame on Chelsea! To make a good and highly competitive team one needs good world-class players. And in this time to get such players it sure costs! This is what Roman Abramovich did to make Chelsea a team which would be feared by others. Then why to blame Abramovich? I think the Man Utd fans are not able to digest the fact that they now have a strong and tough competitor who has been able to defeat them and their championship is at stake. And that is why I believe lies the blame-game!

5. A lot people started following Man Utd just because of Beckham and are still stuck with that fantasy…Guys, Beckham has left the team long back!

In the Champions League clash between Man Utd v AC Milan all my Man Utd friends were of the opinion that they would be happy if AC Milan wins just because it had Beckham. And would be even glad if he scores at Old Trafford…What kind of a Man Utd fan you are? At least I wouldn’t be happy if my favorite team (Chelsea) loses and that too just because it has a player whom I like! A difference in ideologies perhaps?

6. And that’s not it. Referees add time if Man Utd are losing! Take up a match in which until the 90 minutes the scores are level or they are behind you will agree that what I am saying is true and not baseless.

Let me give you an example to explain my view: An EPL match against Man City, the score were level till the last minute. The referee didn’t end the game even after the 4 minutes of injury time was over. It seemed he was waiting for Man Utd to score a goal!!

7. 99% of the Man Utd fans don’t know that referring to Manchester United as ‘Man U’ is a disgrace to the team. What kind of a fan are you if you don’t know such basic thing about the team?

8. Ferguson is no doubt an excellent coach! He is definitely not going to stay with Man Utd till time immortal. And what would happen when he leaves? The players would have got used to his tactics and his style of play. The new manager (whoever it will be) is definitely going to have a tough time making his team! To adapt to the new style might take a long time for the players.

Change is new, change is important and change is usually successful too!

alex-ferguson

9. The team depends only on one player as their survivor. Earlier it was Beckham! And then came Ronaldo! Now it’s Rooney!

Make Rooney sit on the bench for a match and you will see the result for yourself.

I don’t see any team effort.

10. The players of Man Utd play for personal ego and never think of the team as a whole. In a match when Ronaldo was substituted by Fergie he got angry because he didn’t want to come out. The same thing was done by Rooney! He even went to the extent of throwing away his shoes in anger. The decision was taken by Fergie for the good of the team.

At least players at Chelsea don’t do such things and respect the manager.

angry_rooney

Apologies if I have hurt the sentiments of any Man Utd fan by this piece. But I meant to do so. I do think that a lot of Man Utd fans will know a lot about their team after reading this piece.

Please share your thoughts if you agree or disagree with me. And we can always have a debate over this.

To the Article Writer...
If you have no noticed all your major faults are with the Fans..NOT with the Team ...try reading the 'Chelsea' article again..
and to point 6....U hav no authority to accuse the refrees, tht is a totally invalid point...looks like u culdnt find more points...so u think this way...and dont tell me tht there is no Team Effort...it seems u urself dunt hav any idea of team effort...have u seriously watched any of the matches? and For YOUR kind info a player like Ronaldo wishes to return to Manchester United after his contract with Real Madrid terminates...and I cant understand the point where it states....'Manchester United themselves spend a lot of money' ...i say dunt write articles if u r not thorough with information...The Red Company is under $650m debt...but still the team plays with full zest and finish with perfection....I dunt need to criticize Chelsea more , Pulasta has covered all points.
U r seriously a dumb #@##, who just wanted to write something to retaliate with the Chelsea article even though its rubbish.

I am a Liverpool fan and don't like to indulge in this hate business to such an extent. But I'm afraid that this piece lacks any objectivity whatsoever. Points like 'Man Utd also spends a lot of money' have not been backed with any examples. And the Man City example has been conveniently generalised. And this is not the first time I'm seeing such an article from this author. No offence, but such articles only highlight your immaturity and nothing else.

somethings in this article are true , and as being responsible MANCHESTER UNITED fan i do accept it and as a team we would like to improve on them ........

but tell me tell u guy (those who completely supports this article and who are against MANCHESTER UNITED ) however mistake our team does , it wont affect out love and passion abt our team (MANCHESTER UNITED) ............ and as you(writer) have proved that we lacks in some aspects ...... it equally means that we have a long way to improvement ...... and u only can imagine if we improve in all this aspects then what would be a scenario ....... WE WILL BE A ULTIMATE KINGS OF THE WORLD OF FOOTBALL ......

The article title should be Why you hate MU fans and not Why you hate MU. Besides, the fact that an article of such poor quality is even published on isport reflects on the poot standards of editorial control and stringency.

i guess most people who are not familiar with football support MAN U.MAN U might be a very good team, but the fans speak as if they own the club..there are teams that are more deserving than MAN U in EPL.Also a MAN U fan will never accept his team's defeat,i feel if you really love your team you should also respect other teams which the fans ignore conviniently...i guess the editor has made a valid point here today...

Dude, the points you have made are all so immature. "My friends who are Man Utd fans did this", "Fans do this" etc etc. Its hardly anything concrete. I think writing an article comes with a certain amount of responsibility of making statements that are based on a little more than personal opinion of you and your friends.

Secondly, most Manchester United fans are well aware of everything to do with the team. Just because you hang out wit the wrong bunch doesn't mean you can slate all United fans.

I'm not really sure why you wrote this actually. Were u pissed off by the chelsea article? Did you have a fight with ur so called "Man Utd fan friends"?

Anyways, i can appreciate you not liking united. Thats ur personal opinion, but as i said earlier, if you are gonna write an article, please atleast try to keep it sensible instead of writing such drivel.

The writer and the website surely doesnt understand the fact that 'opinions are like ass-holes, each one has one'. in this case you hate MU, which is okay as long as u are sure why you hate MU. After reading thru 5 points I gave up and wanted to join the people who have commented.
YOUR PIECE ABSOLUTELY LACKS ANY OBJECTIVE.
I like having sex as opposed to working in office, so do I write about it on a website or what smilies/cheesy.gif
Get a life... you hate MU... fine keep the opinion to urself than blaming the millions of genuine MU fans around the world, your friends if they dont know the first name of Ronaldo, then they DEFINITELY are not MU fans...
A true MU fans will name each n every player on the bench....

this website seriously needs to fire their editor and get someone who has a head on his shoulders...

man every team gets some partial decisions.

You always forget the wrong decisions in favor of your team and always blame referees if they give wrong decisions about referee.

Aston Villa were denied 3 penalties yesterday because of poor refereeing and no one even posted. why? because u don't care about them as they are not title challenger. Its pathetic.

have some sense. Even Chelsea had many decisions in favor of them. Blame the referee then?? Then u will shut ur mouth and when small mistake done by referee, you just come and start abusing referee as if they are not human...

and one more who said we are glory hunters, i havent lost hope on them since i was 4. and we know who our cap'n is. please stop making naive accusations

Well I am a die hard Chelsea fan AND to be frank, I found the article a bit immature and directed towards the Utd fans.
The points he has mentioned are true I daresay, but at the same time they are immaterial in the context of the teams. Although what I'd like to add there is that one can very safely say that Man Utd is where it is now only because of SAF. I personally hate the guy, but he's one tactical master! I'm pretty sure Utd's gonna be in deep trouble once he leaves.
And the point regarding spending money, take a look into SAF's CV and you'll get the answer!!!

You have a problem with the fans or the club eh? And as for one man show, common Suraj, every team has a talisman And refereeing decisions? You have to understand that any decisions are highlighted when given against or for the team. Also, get one point right...its a MINIMUM of 4 minutes added time. There was a sub in the added time against City and that added another minute and a half, including the offside that Bellamy argued about. Its shrewd football, not cheating. And well, as if the ref knew Owen would pop up with a goal. That was the team's effort..the ref dint kick the ball in.

At least our strikers have separate wives and don't fight amongst themselves for who gets more pounds per week.

Rooney's not the only player, but every team revolves around one player. And we have won games without Rooney. I have to remind you we don't buy ready made players. Ronaldo and Rooney were 17 when they came to the club and the club has moulded them into world class athletes. Unlike 30 yr old established players that Chelsea buy. Who in the first team are home grown at Chelsea? Can you name some? I can give you a list. We make stars, you buy them! That is the difference

As for the captaincy issue, we have so many respected players that anybody can step in as captain. We don't need to have one who plays every game. If Terry would be left on the bench, it would make headlines the next day, unlike the scores of times G.Neville has given room to Rafael.

You could have made the article more interesting....i think that with a little more time you will start thinking more in footballing terms, rather than in fan terms. I have to say, good attempt, but written while in a mood of revenge and that makes the brain a little destabilized.

I have to somewhere admit that a lot of fans support United because its famous...but well, we didn't get famous for nothing yeah? It takes a lot of effort and success to have such a fan base.

Dear WRITER....or if u would like to be called as A Author of this piece,

Hmmm ... m sure before starting this topic you must have thought. That this is my only chance of becoming popular by choosing the most POPULAR club and disgracing it. so that half of the country replies to it with hatred. and OH YES i forgot .... after writing the whole so called article you thought people might just go crazy with their replies ... so someone added a warning saying if people cant be civil, their comments will be removed. I want to know... why was such immature baseless topic started if people here weren't given a right to say whatever they wanted to.. sadly not all can be civilized just as u r. .... oh ok ... m sorry m goin out of the topic.... lets go back ....... lets see each point of urz...

1. Well what did u write.... YEAH...... Half of the Man Utd. fans are behind the team only because it is a winning team. The next line of yours says it is why because people like to be associated with the winners.. how nice... you question u answer. brilliant....but tell me one thing how many fans have u met by now? have you been to the stadium to watch the match? did you speak to the spectators sitting their as well??? or u talking bout lil kids in your colony who wear Man Utd. Jersey.???

2. Awww the second point again speaks the same thing.....whom are you asking about ronaldo??? half of the kids you know in your area???... come out ..... study more people..... Mr. Author I guess you are lazy enough to meet more people and asking them such questions.... coz you don;t even know how many people support the team....Oops sorry I forgot you were busy enough in creating MASALA points fr the article.

3. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL..... sadly your third point also has the same silly question.... but i appreciate your creativity of how you molded the third point into different words to make it look interesting. but so sorry Mr. Author I again think you need to meet the REAL FANS.

4. Man Utd spends alot of money and blame it on Chelsea....wohahahaahahahahahaa..... this was the best.... hilarious.... now you are at least trying to make it a lil fun ... good goood...... but sir where did you read or hear Manchester United themselves spend a lot of money' ...The club is under debt...but still the team plays with full zest and finish with perfection..sadly you wouldn't know it... smilies/cheesy.gif coz half facts are FUN..... smilies/cheesy.gif right mr. Author??

5. awwww who told u this one???? did u read this point sumwhere on the internet??? trust me i would LOVE to meet the MAN Utd. fans that you know. Because sadly the fans you are talkin bout are from some other world. Coz the big point is my friend even you only know ROONEY, RONALDO and BECKHAM..... smilies/cheesy.gif thatz y ur article revolves only around them.. and because the people you know get excited only when they see these three... smilies/cheesy.gif tadaaaaaan this helped u create another point....

6. Well i thought we were talking bout the team......How did referees got into it... OHHHHHHH...you didn't want to keep them away from your lil publicity that you are getting here... good good....Strange na...even Chelsea had many decisions in favor of them. Blame the referee then?? oh no no no no.......smilies/cheesy.gif referees are always right when it's our team.... nice....but could try better than this...

7. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL again ..WOW what a valid point to hate the team... trust me.... very very big reason......callin it Man U ...wht a disgrace....... good that you started hating it.... coz sensitive people like you mite get too emotional over such topics..... but I appreciate. How concerned are you about what we call the team even after you hating it.....

9. Well so you want to say.....it's only Rooney who is playing....rest of them aren't worth it..... Rooney's not the only player, And we have won games without Rooney. I am sure you dunno that.... I have to remind you we don't buy ready made players. Rooney was 17 when he came to the club and the club has molded him.Unlike the oldies that Chelsea buy. Who in the first team are home grown at Chelsea? Can you name some? hmmm hmmm??? i dunno if you know all this....... i wonder if you know things bout chelsea too?? lol

10. lol lol lol........ how can chelsea show anger... oldies can;t take so much stress....they would obviously not make much noise...... you would not understand all this.... awwwwwww.....mr.author hate violence..... don't worry the next time Man Utd. plays please change the channel..simple you would not see such violence and it wouldn't effect you either.... smilies/cheesy.gif

11...??????? haaaaaaaaaaaw the points got over..... awwwwwwww...... It was so much fun Mr. author.... brilliant points with no sense.... sumtimes itz good for heart and mind.. I am sure all the Man Utd. fans enjoyed this..... coz mr.author has spent hours thinking of the best points... but sadly he forgot that he is writing for a sports forum where people would have appreciated points with sum strong base....but oops i guess he doesn't know that. last but not the least HE IS A CHELSEA FAN....wohahahahahahahaha...... smilies/cheesy.gif so sumhow he had to create the points..GOOD GOOD...chelsea fans would not allow u join their communites you have put in alot of effort....smilies/cheesy.gif

@Guest who wants to write about the authors on our site, you have proved that you are not capable enough to write. Do you have the guts to identify yourself and speak your mind in a public forum and at the same time controlling the gutter that's fitted on your face? You open your mouth and it stinks and I will be happy if stinkers like you keep away from the site. You cannot appreciate an opinion then why not close the doors and windows of your house and lock yourself in.

We are a fan based site and we appreciate all opinions, if two of the fans wanted to present their reasons to hate a club, we gave the opportunity and they showed the ability to present their emotions without using filthy language and in a very logical manner. If you don't agree with them give your reasons, no one's stopping you.

I think a very badly written piece. 5 points out of 10, are about fans having limited knowledge. What is the club's wrong doing in it. The Brand "Man U" is so big that it attracts even a laymen, even if you watch football once in a year, it pulls you towards it with all ts glory and style. Either way, fans lack of knowledge has nothing to do with their football. for every one fan who does not know first name of Ronaldo or that Beckham gas left, there are 2 who can make u remember cantonna.

The rest of the points are useless cribs like adding extra time. etc. Point no. 9 is ridiculous, self defeating. the very fact that ManU cud win post beckham, or ronaldo or anyone else shows that It knows who to cash cow a star player and yet emerge from his shadows when required.

Only valid point is No. 9. Fergie has been constant for two decades what will happen when he leaves.

i am a chelsea fan (like the author himself) but this article makes zero sense. the article is full of vengeance and i think it reflects the authors interactions with his man utd firends. he has generalised everything on the fans and u do not hate a club because you hate their fans. man utd are followed and supported by millions of people round the world for their success, achievements, history and style of play. event though i hate man united cos i support chelsea you have to give it to them for being so consistent and playing an entertaining brand of football. this article is very amateurish and the author should have based his arguments on more sensible and specific suportings.

I don't want to get into an argument with people criticizing the quality of the article and arguments that the writer has put in. The only question I want to ask is, How many of you can write a 800 word piece for or against your team? I bet if given as an assignment, half of you won't be able to do it.

If you think you can, send in a 800 word piece on why your team is the best in the world and what made you fall in love with it. If you can't, I rest my case.

I can't believe that this is actually an article. Has to be the most immature, baseless drivel I have read on any site. The 'author' has no footballing knowledge whatsoever (Utd were a one-man team during Beckham? Really? Ever heard of the 'Class of '92'?), bases his opinions on what he has heard and seen in his small world and looks desperate to make a point which in the end turned out to be absolute tosh.

Seriously, you guys have got to stop articles (if I can call it that) like these from making it to your website if you want to maintain any standards.

And no, this rant is not 'coz I'm a Man Utd fan. Trust me, I would have been embarrassed if a fellow Manc had written such an article.

The only posts that have been removed were the ones filled with expletives. This is where registering on the site would have helped, easy to find who you are dealing with when you know the name of the person

This is a general comment and is not entirely riding on sentiment ...... Fans/supporters of other soccer clubs are entitled to their own opinions, but please respect the fact that Manchester United didn't fold up after the Munich air disaster of Februray 6, 1958. It isn't easy for a club to rise from the ashes and Man United has done that successfully thanks to the likes of Sir Matt Busby and his managerial successors to Sir Alex Ferguson; the players; the owners (but for the current lot) and the community.

While you may not like Manchester United, please do respect its history and achievements. This is straight from the heart of not only a Manchester United fan, but a sports fan in general.

Sorry buddy, going through your article it seems a class 8th student complaining about Man Utd and their increasing fan base. Most of your points are useless.

As a matter of fact Chelsea supporters worldwide increased just because of the fact RA took over and they won back back league titles..now who are the glory hunters.
We know clubs history pretty well and don't need your articles to enlighten us.

To the author grow up and come up with some good articles which are fun to read.
Cheers till then

1. united may have been the best team in the world, but time is changing and i dont think it would remain so for a long time.

2. if u say that Chelsea fans have increased just because it won back to back titles, then you should definitely agree to my point that man utd fans are glory hunters with the fact they have won titles in the recent past.

3. (for the guy who disagrees with my point that man utd are a one-man team) dude, tell me one season when there were two or more players with almost an equal number of goals. The difference between the highest scorer and the second highest goal scorer is jus huge. And about my footballing knowledge i think it is by far better than you.

4. chinz,
i would like to reply to a few points in your comment.
Firstly you said that i answered my question itself in the first point. well, if you say so then you should agree with my point too that man utd fans are glory hunter!

5. in the second point you say that those people with whom i interact would be kid. so to inform you there are people like you too who don't know about man utd and i don't think so they are kid.

6. you say that my article revolves around rooney, ronaldo and beckham, so, had i taken names of any players other than these, i wouldn't have got any comments because are the only players known by the so called 'man utd' fans.

7. I beat you, only a man utd fan could disagree with the statement that referees are biased. and its okay to get angry over this point and its a fact.
one more exampe of the point regarding the penalties, in match vs liverpool the penalty given to valencia was a free kick because Mascherano tackled him outside the box and fell inside the box and this was clearly visible.
now, if you say that this was a penalty then why didnt ivanovic and drogba get penalty.
If you say that valencia's penalty was a penalty then you are the biggest expert and even better that those at EPL and if you think that wasnt a penalty then accept the fact that Chelsea should have won the won the match against inter with those penalties quite easily.
dude, this is just one more example of what i meant and stop coming on the field with 12 players and i think you know the equaton.
sorry for teh late reply to your comments.
if i have left out to answer any of your doubts you can anytime comment here or find me on facebook.
we shall have a good debate over this.

Let us not debate on refereeing decisions. It is not our fault we get decisions....you should start blaming the refs then...why united? Then you are citing Match Fixing allegations here and then should probably stop watchin the league itself.

ok. In reply to my point about the referee's decisions you said that even Chelsea sometimes some biased decisions. so in you claim this then even you should stop watching the league itself.
And regarding your opinion that i should stop watchin league matches then its my job to make as many people aware about this i can.
i think you are just making allegations. give me some facts.

We can also win without Rooney....hope you saw the mauling Bolton recd. this weekend. So tht contradicts ur point of us being a one man team. Rooney doesnt run with the ball from the half line and score. As far as I go, no team is a one man team....otherwise they would not be called a team rite?
