Tottenham completed an amazing comeback to win 3-2 at Arsenal. Spurs were trailing 2-0 at the Emirates at half-time, but second half goals from Younes Kaboul, Gareth Bale and a penalty by Van Der Vart completed an amazing comeback to register their first win against a top four team away from him nearly 2 decades.

Arsenal scored from Samir Nasri and Marouane Chamakh in the first half and looked like running away with the game which they were completely dominating. As an Arsenal fan, losing the way we did was an utter disappointment. Considering this is our 3rd home defeat and second in which we gave away 3 goals puts a big question mark on what we can achieve this season, having not won any silverware for more than 5 years.

While Arsenal looked like being in complete control of the game in the first half, it was a lot to do with Tottenham being really poor and VDV and Bale not being to their best. Something that changed in the second half and something that professor seemed to have prepared his players for.

While I am not too bothered about records, about Tottenham not having won away for 17 years etc, It was a game that Arsenal should have won and finished off in the first half itself. While Chamakh scored the goal in the first half, he missed a lot of opportunities to send us 4 or 5 goals clear. Van Persie replaced Chamakh in the 68th minute after a long absence due to injury, but did not make much difference in the game, while on the other side Jermaine Defoe in a similar position for the Spurs made a huge difference and kicked off their revival in the game.

Same can be said about Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, both of them had a very good game, but petered out once Arsenal gave away the first goal. It was evident that Arsenal lacked a Plan B and this has not been the first time in the season when this has happened.

The only saving grace from the game is that this was eventually meant to happen, 17 years had gone by since Spurs had won away in the North London Derby and at some point this run was meant to end so no need to fret  it. Even on a day when a lot of the Arsenal players were not at their best, they dominated most of the game and led for most of the game. With Van Persie fit and hopefully back to his best soon and Vermaelan back from injury I believe we have a squad that can win something this year and at the end of the year we would have some Silverware to show for our efforts unlike the last 5.

At the end of the weekend we would at worst be in 3rd position only 2 points behind Man United, that is if everyone else around us wins their game.
