iSporter Suraj Kori, an avid Chelsea follower feels his team has what it takes to win the title this year. Like most Chelsea fans he believes Man United have been weakened by the departure of Ronaldo and are a one man team, to know more read on..

Chelsea are back on top 2 point clear of second placed Manchester United, after managing to only draw their game in hand against Hull City. Chelsea have been performing exceptionally well since the start of the season and has been able to maintain that flow, however there have been moments of sorrow too for Chelsea fans as some of their performance were below par.
Chelsea started the season on a very high note under new manager Carlo Ancelotti. Along with him he brought the diamond form of play which was very new for the players. I personally felt that the players would take some time to adjust to this style of play, but they got accustomed to this pattern quickly and did not waste much of time. They did complete justice to Ancelotti and started the season with many consecutive wins.
The man who is leading the attack for Chelsea is again Didier Drogba! He has been scoring goals consistently and is the top scorer for Chelsea. Drogba and Anelka are currently the best duo of strikers in the world and it has been impossible for almost all teams to confine them from scoring. And the hunger for goals is still on!
Frank Lampard started the season with a drought of goals but it didn’t take him much time to get into the scoring touch. The midfielders have been in great form scoring goals whenever required. Michael Ballack has failed to score many goals but his assists have been very constructive and vital. He brings his experience into play providing accurate passes which just needed a shot to be converted into a goal, midfield dynamism has helped the team a lot. Michael Essien, Florent Malouda, Deco, Mikel have also been doing their part for the team. Joe Cole coming back in the team after injury has made the team even stronger!
The defenders have been doing their part very well. And the man leading from the front in this job has been the captain John Terry himself. He has been supported well by Carvalho, Alex and Ivanovic who form a wall which makes it impossible for the opposition to pass. They have been so good in their job that Peter Cech has hardly been tested!
Chelsea even has very strong and talented bench players. Kakuta, Daniel Sturridge and Zhirkov would be some of them which definitely need to be named. They took complete advantage of the absence of African players and gave their best to show their talent. These players are the future of Chelsea! And Chelsea’s future seems very bright…
Despite having one of the strongest squad in the country, Manchester United has clearly missed Cristiano Ronaldo. There has been no dead ball expert in team who could replace Ronaldo. After Ronaldo, Man Utd attack has been rotating around Rooney. There has been immense pressure on him to score in every game and to a very extent he has been able to live up to the expectations. But as we all know an individual cannot win a match every time. Dimitar Berabatov is a good striker but I think Ferguson hasn’t given him enough chances. Michael Owen on the other hand started the season with a few goals but then has failed to deliver. Federico Macheda was one player who I thought showed some character whenever given the opportunity but somehow was unable to make a place in the team.
The midfielders have not been able to match to their standards. There have been no midfielder scoring goals consistently. Not every performance of Man Utd has been convincing and this is visible from Sir Alex Ferguson’s offensive behavior during the matches for which he also had to suffer bans along with shelling out some penalty.
The defenders on the other hand have very well compensated for the lack of form of its midfielders. They have showed some great character. I personally feel that Van Der Sar’s injury which kept him out of the team for a long time affected Man Utd greatly. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and searching for his replacement is next to impossible and since his come back the team has become quite stable…
What differentiates Chelsea & United that Chelsea are much more than a one-man team. All 11 players on the field have been contributing in the team’s win. Ancelotti’s team has played to its caliber and potential since the start of the season. The destiny of the title is currently difficult to be predicted. But considering the forms of both the teams at would I would put in my money for Chelsea. I just hope that Chelsea end this season as champions.
May Chelsea triumph!
