Chelsea and Arsenal will have a lot to play for when they clash against each other with both sides having a point to prove, especially to their title rivals United. iSporter Chirag Mansukhani brings the pre-match action for us.

Arsenal Captain Cesc Fabregas

With Chelsea dropping points and only managing a draw against Hull City, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will want to regain top spot with a win against Arsenal. With all the controversy surrounding John Terry and his recent escapades taking its toll on the team and with the dressing room supposedly divided into two, Ancelotti will need this victory to add vigor to their sides’ title aspirations.

Arsenal on the other hand suffered a drubbing at the hands of Manchester United last weekend and will be looking for some redemption as they take on Chelsea. Arsenal will want nothing less than a victory from this match if they are to continue their quest for Premier league success and a win is vital to rebuild some confidence in the side after last weekend.

The Gunners’ will be depending on their captain “Fabulous Fabregas” to lead from the front again, and Arshavin would certainly have to step up if they are to trouble a well rounded and experienced Chelsea line-up. On the other hand Chelsea with the likes of Drogba back from the African Cup of Nations will be looking to pull out a strong show if only they can leave the controversy surrounding their captain behind and just concentrate on doing what they do best and that is playing football.

The match is certainly set to be a dynamic clash of footballing styles and has the making of a spectacle. The London derby usually provides some fascinating encounters. With both sides having a lot at stake this match should live up to its expectations, which means football fans certainly have a treat in store for them no matter what the outcome.

Prediction : Arsenal 1 Chelsea 1
