Arsenal were simply outplayed by an in-form Chelsea squad that demonstrated their exquisite quality and sheer class by drubbing their title rivals Arsenal 2-0. The defeat further dampens the Gunners’ hopes of Premiership success after the defeat they suffered at the hands of Manchester united last week. Back to back losses at the hands of title contenders can only mean that Arsenal are fast losing hope of Premiership glory this season with the morale in the camp low to say the least.

The Gunners’ have had to work hard with the absence of Robin van Persie with whom they will have to do without till at least April.

Chelsea on the other hand delivered a fatal blow to Arsenal and continued to be on course for another Premier League title regaining top spot and making light work of a reasonably well balanced Arsenal team.

The win means that Carlo Ancelotti’s side sent out a clear message to United and anyone else who doubted their aspirations and ability; that they clearly mean business and are a force to be reckoned with.

The game however, was far from one sided and a pure delight to watch for the neutrals and the Chelsea fans. Arsenal did have their opportunities but it was Chelsea who struck first when Drogba struck volleying the ball into the net.

However, Chelsea were not done just yet. They continued to apply pressure on the Arsenal goal and had chances throughout the match. It was Chelsea’s day all round. and it  got even better  Drogba drilled home his 22nd goal of the season sealing a well deserved victory for the men in blue. With Arsenal squandering the chances they had, especially with their dominance of possession in the second half it was a night for the Stamford Bridge faithful to remember.

Drogba’s strong desire to score and a wonderful performance by Captain John Terry who was praised by Carlo Ancelotti for his leadership skills and fantastic performance in the game proved to be the decisive factors in a convincing Chelsea victory. There is still a long way to go till the end of the season but if this game is anything to go by, United better beware because the Blues are bellowing hard and are ready to crush anyone that comes in their way.
