Just when you thought the Barclays Premier League couldn't get more exciting, the league produces a string of extraordinary results. Starting first Norwich City hold Liverpool to an exciting draw at Anfield. Then on Sunday the 'noisy neighbours' complete one of the most incredible wins you will ever see at Old Trafford. Shortly after this Villas Boas's Chelsea almost pull off an impossible draw despite being a goal & 2 men down in the 1st half while playing away to QPR.

If the first couple of months of this season is anything to go by then this season will be the most exciting in the history of the Barclays Premier League. The number of goals per game this season is the highest since the inaugural Premier League season in 1992. This season also has the highest ratio of red & yellow cards being shown per game. Below is a list of the records since 1992.

With over 2 goals being scored per game & a high number of cards being dealt out by the referee, the excitement in the game of football has gone up a notch. It's great fun for the neutrals which can only be a good thing for the future of the sport.
