
A spectacular hat-trick from Wayne Rooney coupled with brace from Javier Hernandez helped Manchester United thrash Bolton 5-0 at the Reebok Stadium. Goals from John Terry and Daniel Sturridge helped Chelsea edge past Sunderland 2-1 at the Stadium of Light.
A horrific mistake from Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm helped Arsenal scrape to a 1-0 victory over Swansea at the Emirates. Liverpool suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Stoke City as Jonathan Walters' 20th minute penalty gave the Potters a 1-0 win over the Reds at the Britannia Stadium.

Hernandez opened the scoring for United in as early as 5th minute of the game when he slotted home from close range following a brilliant low cross from Nani. Fifteen minutes later, Rooney doubled the lead when he tucked in a brilliant cross from Jones to make it 2-0 and within minutes, made it 3-0 as he pounced on a rebound from close range after a great run and shot from Jones.
Hernandez had one ruled out for offside before the half-time, but he doubled his own tally in the 56th minute when he belted home United's fourth after Michael Carrick's low shot rebounded off a defender into his path. Rooney brought up his hat-trick in style with an emphatic strike from the edge of the area after being set by Nani. This was his second hat-trick in as many games and becomes only the fourth player in Premier League history to score consecutive hat-tricks following Les Ferdinand, Ian Wright and Didier Drogba.

John Terry opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 18th minute when Mata's curling effort from set-piece rebounded back off the post, Sunderland failed to clear their lines, Sturridge lifted in a dangerous ball to the far post where Terry chested the ball down and drilled it towards goal, the ball rebounded back, but he made sure it was slotted past the keeper on the follow-up.
Sturridge doubled Chelsea's lead after the half time with a superb back heel past Mignolet. Meireles set up the striker with a beautiful searching ball who managed to flick the ball into the net. Ji-Dong Won gave Sunderland a ray of hope with a stoppage time goal, but Chelsea hung on to earn three crucial points.

Arsenal started off brightly and came close to scoring in as early as the second minute when Ramsey blazed over the bar after a beautiful assist from Arteta, but against the run of play, Danny Graham was denied by a fine save from Szczesny. Five minutes from time, a horrific mistake from Swansea goalkeeper, Michel Vorm, allowed Arsenal to take the lead when he rolled the ball out into the back of Rangel's foot which rebounded to Arshavin who lifted it into the empty net from a tight acute angle.
Swansea started off the second half brightly and were denied by the crossbar in the 54th minute when Stuart Attwell's freekick clipped the crossbar. Arsenal had their share of bad luck when Robin Van Persie's curling effort hit the outside of the right-hand post. Swansea squandered a great chance to level the scoring when Graham blazed over from close range in the stoppage time as the game ended 1-0 in favour of Arsenal.

Stoke gained the lead in the 20th minute via Penalty when Jamie Carragher brought down Jonathan Walters in the box. The Irishman picked himself up and drilled the ball high down the centre of the goal to make it 1-0. Liverpool dominated the second half and fought desperately for an equaliser, but couldn't find the net as Jordan Henderson and Luis Suarez missed great chances to level the scores.
