Toffees To Make Late Surge For Europe

After an appalling start to the season David Moyes and his Everton side seem to be making some quick ground. With recent victories against both of the top two teams  in Chelsea and Manchester United, this Everton side seems to be growing in confidence and is ready to mount a battle for a Europa league spot.

Currently, Everton lie in 8th spot, seven points off the pace for a spot in the Europa league but a lot can change and fast in this funny game we call football. After all, Everton is the best example of how fortunes can turn. They have had a topsy-turvy season to say the least with nothing going their way for much of the first half of the season. The Toffees’ have been plagued with injuries to a lot of their top stars including the likes of Yakubu and Arteta  who have just recently come back from injury.

As soon as their injury woes looked set to be getting better, Tim Cahill was ruled out for a couple of weeks and Fellaini has been ruled out for most of the remaining season if not all of it. Off course, having said all of this it was without Fellaini and Cahill that Everton managed to overcome Manchester United and that definitely speaks volumes of the sheer grit, quality and determination of the side.

The Toffees’ have always been know to give stern competition to anyone and have definitely moved leaps and bounds under the guidance of David Moyes who I believe is one of the best Managers’ not only in the Premier League but in world football today.

With roughly one third of the season remaining Everton would certainly have to continue with this wonderful flurry of victories that they have had and must keep up this kind of form till the end of the season.

One man that will play a big part if Everton are to get themselves a Europa League spot this season will be Louis Saha who has been in terrific form this season for the Toffees’ scoring goals at will; some of them astounding to say the least.

All in all it looks to be an exciting end to the season; as if the race for the top four wasn’t enough Everton’s late surge is sure to catch a couple of the other teams by surprise. I definitely predict an absolutely scorching remainder of the season for Everton and would not be surprised if they snatch a Europa League spot. Go Toffees!!!
