iSporter Suraj Kori shares his insights as he pens down a pre-match review for Chelsea v Inter Milan, to be played coming Tuesday, 16 March. He is just as eager to see Chelsea win and enter the Quarters as he is to see the reception that Mourinho gets from Chelsea fans!

With two of the English sides through to the quarter-finals and in such great style, all eyes would be on Tuesday night’s clash between Chelsea and Inter Milan. Chelsea lost the first leg 2-1 but one thing that should satisfy them would be the fact that they managed to get an away goal. But a deficit is a deficit and Chelsea will have to find a way to win this…

The final score would had been different had Drogba’s free-kick entered the net instead of hitting the pole and missing the goal by just inches! The other one was when Chelsea weren’t given a penalty for bringing down Malouda inside the box. It was a 50-50 chance but I think that should have been a penalty. The referee was far away and didn’t get a clear view, so he turned down the penalty shouts by Chelsea. Had these two things gone in favor of Chelsea the scenario would have been completely different. But for now the first leg score stands 2-1 in favor of Inter Milan.

Chelsea will have to prevent Inter from scoring a goal! And even a 1-0 win would be enough to take Chelsea to the next round considering that Chelsea have the most precious away goal. But what if Inter score? Then Chelsea would be in deep deep trouble. Keeping in mind the fact that Peter Cech is injured and won’t be available for the match increases their concern. Well, the situation gets even worse with Hilario, the back up goalkeeper getting injured!

Ross Turnbull, the back up to the back up goalkeeper who made his debut last Saturday is expected to play against Inter. But how far would he be able to handle the pressure of Champions League? Even though he showed some character and made some good saves against West Ham, Chelsea would be hoping that Hilario gets fit for the match. These would be the major concerns for Ancelotti and he will have to find a way to stop the Inter.

Who could be a better person to rescue Chelsea than the captain and three-time Champions League Defender of the year, John Terry. Chelsea defense would be led by him and a much better performance would be expected from his boys. In the first leg they were left exposed and Inter players didn’t face much difficulty in getting through them…

Inert have not been in their best form in the last few days! They have won only one of their last 4 league games and even suffered a 3-1 crushing defeat at the hands of Cantania last Friday. This should make Chelsea happy. But everyone knows what Jose Mourinho and his boys are capable of. They can turn the table upside down on their day! And all Inter fans would be hoping that day should be Tuesday…

Chelsea on the other hand got back to their winning touch with a 4-1 win over West Ham. Drogba will have to step up and take the responsibility of seeing Chelsea to the next round...He has been in great form and would be expected to continue the same. A much better show would be expected from him than the first leg. Apart from him, there are other players too like Ballack, Lampard, Anelka and Malouda who would be expected to score.

The game seems quite balanced this time with Inter having a slight edge. I am just hoping that Chelsea win the match and enter the Quarters…To know the result we have no choice but to wait until Tuesday night. And I can’t wait to see the reception that Mourinho would get from Chelsea fans!

Best Of Luck!
