The form is domineering and the writing is on the wall. But let’s face it; it is getting fairly dreary now. The true aficionados may still find respite in the strategy, the KERS, the diffuser turmoil and the impending budget cap, but to the lay race viewer, it getting fairly predictable and uninteresting to watch.
It makes me wonder time and again that while the F1 bosses keep reinventing the rules and regulations to feed in much needed excitement to the television viewers worldwide, how come every time there are 1 or at the most 2 teams who tend to benefit out of these changes.

I also want to ask the rest of the field, what the heck were / are they doing?? We understand that Honda did all the hard work and Brawn is reaping the fruits. But then the other teams also had the same time to have a set up ready which could at least be competitive if not better.
The Ferraris & Toyotas who supposedly have the maximum racing budgets are struggling fabulously. The giants of yester years Williams & McLarens have been rendered nonentities.
And Monaco was no exception. Button produced a spectacular lap on heavy fuel to grab a pole, got rarely bothered with the view on his rear view mirror during the race and landed his 5th victory of the year. Barrichello got too close to Button on the opening laps to needlessly grain his tyres. But after that incident drove a disciplined race, seized 2nd from Raikkonen on lap 1 and then like a dutiful ally toed Button’s line till the chequered flag. The rest of the field was fighting only for the 3rd onwards positions.
Quite uncharacteristically, Ross Brawn emphatically jumped the gun and labeled Button the 2009 World Champion. Nick Fry was happy that their nearest competitors Red Bull didn’t have a good race and their lead has gone up by 43 odd points.

Button was overjoyed with the race. Though he has been much grounded and has declined to accept that he is on his way to becoming the 2009 World Champion. Barrichello seems to have recovered from the alleged team order exercise in Spain. By his own admission, he felt Button was superior over the weekend and he had little chance of winning the race.
Now, Messrs Mosley and Ecclestone - where is the excitement? If this is how it is gonna go, then we will have a world champion with almost half the season pending. I reckon the audiences and the television advertisers would contemplate doing something better on the race Sunday.
