F1 Update from iSport F1 Pitstop: iSporter Sahil Gore rounds up Red Bull's unexpected pole in Saturday's qualifying.

Vettel: 3rd [151 pts] Button: 4th [147 pts]
We’re finally here! Spa-Francorchamps. The most beautiful circuit on the 2010 calender(and arguably that of any other season). Located in the stunning Ardennes Mountains of Belgium, it is without a doubt everybody’s favourite racetrack – drivers, teams and fans alike.
Spa has been hosting motor races from the 1920s and the layout used has changed significantly. Post WW II a few minor tweaks, bypasses and short-cuts reduced the length to 14 Kms. The early races had many fatal accidents with drivers and spectators losing their lives. The fearsome Masta Kink in particular (a high speed left-right chicane) was witness to gruesome sights of severed human body parts. It was removed in 1970 and a few years later, the entire circuit underwent heavy changes on grounds of safety. The 7 Kms layout that we see today came about in 1979.
As we return from F1s month-long break, Mark Webber (just about) leads the world championship. After celebrating his 34th birthday last Friday, the Australian claimed Pole position today with his 3 main rivals following behind, in championship order. Robert Kubica caused a slight dent in the order today with a superb 3rd place. However, the Renault is one the slowest car off the line and on a dry track both Vettel and Button shouldn’t have too much trouble getting past in the first lap.
After dominating practice times, Fernando Alonso had a disappointing session qualifying 10th today. Unless he finishes in the top 4 tomorrow, the championship will slip away from him. But given the unpredictable weather at this circuit, the race isn’t going to be easy for anyone. Four of the five best wet weather drivers – Hamilton, Kubica, Sutil and Alonso are in the top 10, along with rain-averse Massa and rookie Hulkenberg also in the mix. Heavy rain on Sunday might yield a lot of surprises.
After all the incessant media-interviews, excessive press statements and out-of-place comments, I’m looking forward to seeing some of the drivers being shown their place on the track tomorrow. It’s also rare chance of redemption for those looking to re-claim old crowns and restore reputations. Michael Schumacher will start the race in 21st place.
