iSporter Sahil Gore, who is the biggest Red Bull Racing fan around that we know of has set his expectations right about the teams performace based on the 2009 results, here is a preview to the RBR's 2010 season.

Red Bull Racing had their best season to date, in 2009. Sebastian Vettel finishing runner-up to Jenson Button in the championship, Mark Webber finally taking his first Grand Prix victory and RBR finishing in 2nd place in the constructor’s table.

Team principle Christian Horner’s money is on Mark Webber for 2010. To an extent, he’s right. This time last year, Webber was recovering from a cycling accident. He wasn’t physically-able even in normal human terms, let alone in F1 terms. He was beaten by his younger team-mate through the first half of the season. But he bounced back to take two GP victories, and even went ahead of Vettel in the championship for a brief period. This year, he’s fitter and high on confidence after making the transition from “I can win” to “I will win”. Horner has described him as the “Dark Horse” of 2010.
But everything said and done, does it really prove that he’s World Champion material. Personally, I think he’s got ALL the qualities of a WDC, except for natural god-given talent. ‘Nuf said. There is really no point in continuing this argument. I respect him, but I can’t worship him.

Sebastian Vettel on the other hand, has loads and loads of natural god-given talent. He also brings a refreshing bit of humour and wit to the grid. And he is mature beyond his years. Actually, he has EVERYTHING, except experience. And the magical thing about experience is, it just comes to you. Even Alex Yoong had it!
I’m not writing off Webber’s chances. He can still prove everyone wrong. Massa and Button have done it. In fact, in a way, it will be a hat-trick of ‘also-ran’s turning into surprisingly feisty championship challengers if Webber can take on the might of 4 world champions and a super-talented team-mate. Good luck to him, but let’s just hope he has to fight for it. It isn’t very hard to image a scenario where “win-at-all-costs” idiots take each other out, leaving Webber, Button and Rosberg to collect the spoils.

There have been some interesting comments from the Red Bull camp regarding the rumors about Kimi Raikkonen’s alleged contract for 2011. They have denied the rumors, but not unconditionally. “If Mark performs well in 2010, there is no reason to look elsewhere”. I like Mark Webber. I really do. But just the thought of having Vettel and Kimi in an equal car is causing minor explosions in my head.
