iSport-ing brothers Kunal & Gunjan are back! This time they have come up with a pit conversation depicting what could be the scenes come 2010. Ferrari / Fernando Vs. Mercedes / Michael - some very humourous pit-to-car radio chat. Miss this at your own cost!
Kunal wonders when Fernando will stop complaining and start driving!!
Fernando: I am suffering from understeer – I am suffering from understeer
Stefano: It’s to do with the front tyres – you are using them a little too much. Preserve them.
Fernando: Preserve tyres? Eh! What? Are you sure you guys put the right pressures in the front tyres?
Stefano: Yes!
Fernando: Are you sure you guys dialed the correct front wing angles?
Stefano: Yes!
Fernando: Okay, I am unable to drive. I am loosing pace to Felipe [who is leading] at over a second a lap!
Stefano: That is because he’s driving faster!
Fernando: Does he have understeer too?
Stefano: No! No complains yet!
Fernando: Which means you guys filled the correct tyre pressures for him.
Stefano: Same compounds, same pressures, Fernando
Fernando: No, I am sure. Else I would have been faster.
Stefano: Then please show your true pace
Fernando: I am trying – but there is too much understeer
Stefano: We hear you Fernando, we will dial in more angle in the next pit stop
Fernando: Talking of pit stops, is he lighter than me? Is he on a better strategy?
Stefano: No Fernando, this year there’s no refueling – so it’s the same fuel levels
Fernando: That’s just not possible. I am sure there’s a Brazilian in the team who wants Felipe to win. I am sure. It happened to me in Renault and then also in Mclaren. Felipe is your favourite. I know that.
Stefano: Fernando, the pit radio is being telecasted LIVE on global TV
Fernando: It doesn’t matter. I am the twin World Champion. I am the one who beat your own Schumacher. So you give me all the support – not Felipe. Okay?
Stefano: Just drive Fernando; we’ll sort things out later
Fernando: Drive? Do you even know how it feels to drive with so much understeer? I am complaining to Luca tonight! You guys are biased…
Stefano: First finish the race and I will call Luca myself
[hears a heavy braking sound –CRASH CRASH BANG THUD CRASH]
Fernando: I have crashed, I have crashed, I have crashed. Call rescue. Call Medical. I have crashed!
Stefano: Are you alright Fernando?
Fernando: I have crashed, I have crashed, I think I am okay. Is Felipe still leading?
Stefano: Yes, very much – leading
Fernando: What! Why did he not crash?
Stefano: Come back to the pits Fernando – we’ll have a chat
Fernando: I am okhay –you guys are to blame. The car just refused to turn. The understeer caused the crash. I know I didn’t loose control. Stefano I need a better car next race. I need the new wing. I need more support from you Italians. I need you to ask the Brazilian mechanic to leave. I also need Felipe to crash next race – ask Nelsinho to speak to him!
Stefano: !@#!@$#@% - Fernando, we need you to learn to drive! $#@@#$
Gunjan wonders whether Ferrari will get over Michael Schumacher...ever!
Stefano: Ok Fernando, you’re doing great. Just put in another fast lap and come into the pits for new tyres.
Fernando: Okay.
Stefano: What the….
Fernando: Everything OK?
Stefano: Umm Yeah.. Are you already on your in lap?
Fernando: Yeah.. Entering pit lane now! What??? Where’s my pit crew? I only have this guy here holding the lollipop!
Stefano: Umm… Yeah. Mercedes GP decided to bring in Michael on this lap as well. The Crew’s gone down to make sure that the Mercedes GP crew does a perfect job on him.
Fernando: Damn! But I thought I was the Ferrari driver now.
Stefano: You might be. But Schumi will always be in every Ferrari worker’s hearts… for now and for always (Dreamy voice)
Fernando: Well, they sure as hell come back fast or I’ll stall my engine.
(Pit crew returns and does a perfect stop… albeit it’s too late. Fernando resumes in 15th place down 13 places).
Stefano: Predicted showers in 12 minutes.
Fernando: Okay! Am gonna push as hard as I can till then.
(Pushes to the extreme like he always does and manages to get into 7th place)
Stefano: Okay there is some water on turns 12 and 13… water on turns 12 and 13. *in an undertone* Damn.. that guy sure is fast.
Fernando: Okay coming in end of next lap. I want intermediates.
Stefano: Intermediates? No no. Michael’s gone for Full wet’s. We’re putting the same on for Felipe now. We’ll put the same on for you too.
Fernando: What!? Listen to ME not SchuME. I want Intermediates. Do you copy? Intermediates!
Stefano: Ok Ok. Copy Affirmative.
(After pitting and taking on Intermediates, Fernando is fastest of the lot and is second behind Michael with 5 laps to go and Massa behind him)
Stefano: Easy now Fernando. Don’t throw away your second place. We can do with a 1-2… ummm I mean 2-3.
Fernando: I am going for the kill. Next lap around… near the start- finish straight.
Stefano: Give it a shot. But it’s Michael… won’t be easy getting past him.
Fernando: You guys do remember the ’05-’06 seasons don’t you?
Stefano: *muffled string of abuses*
Fernando: Yes! Am through! Did you guys see that move?
Stefano: Michael seems to have some problem with his Tyres. There was no way he would have given that spot up so easy?
Fernando: I told you… Intermediates were the way to go.
(Starting of last sector of the last lap)
Stefano: Ok Fernando… ease up a little. We have to conserve… umm the engine.
Fernando: What?? Do you think I am Barrichello? And Michael isn’t even driving for Ferrari anymore. Wake up!
Stefano: He’ll always be in our hearts…
Fernando: Well you can clap for him on the second step of the podium then!
(FA takes the chequered flag)
Fernando: I think aside from the Ferrari support and his skills Michael had something else working for him then too… BRAWN and his Brain.
Stefano: (On another radio with Michael) It’s ok Michael… you’ll do better next race.
