Prasad Rao, iSport's sole surviving fan of the Force India Team on what to expect from them. Will they claim or be claimed?

After a two weeks break, all the teams are set to return on the track with the tyres of their cars rubbing hard to make the circuit hotter. And remember, this weekend Grand Prix is at the hottest circuit of the world that is Monte Carlo, Monaco. However, for Force India the focus is not only on the race sport but also the glamour associated with it. The team boss Vijay Mallya has his 95-metre yacht Indian Empress anchored in the Mediterranean principality’s harbor and is all set to party rock hard over the weekend. ‘The King Size’ man Mallya, doesn’t want to have a low profile considering the slowdown which has badly hurt the sport

Moving on with the team, starting with the Thursday practice both the drivers, Giancarlo Fisichella & Adrian Sutil remain optimistic about Force India’s chances ahead during this weekend. In first practice, Fisichella had 28 laps with the best time of 1:19.534 keeping him at 15th position while Sutil had 24 laps with the best time being 1:19.600 positioning him at 18th place. In the second practice of the day, Sutil was better of the two finishing 13th whereas Fisichella was last with BMW’s Robert Kubica putting no time.

Fisichella feels the team has immense potential to score its maiden points in this race weekend. He is happy with the improvement in the car. The VJM02 car has had recent upgrades which have quickened the car than before. Also, KERS is on its way and by German Grand Prix it can be well implemented. Few decisions like resolving the down-force issues, double diffuser, etc have been effective though not to a greater extent. Mallya is confident that as every race passes by the value addition in each shall help the team to score points sooner. Sutil & Fisichella though optimistic about their chances here at Monaco, also know that it’s not easy to overtake on this circuit so qualifying will be more important than before.

Force India needs at the moment a higher grid position for which the team boss, Mallya is anxious. He has given his drivers a deadline to qualify in at least the second qualifying session as both of them have failed for the same. In the race, a good start without any crash-outs, reliability and consistent pace can help VJM to be in points.
