Jean Todt has been elected as the president of FIA, following which the rest of the members of FIA have also been elected and Dr. Vijay Mallya the team principal of Force India F1  who also heads the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), has been elected in the prestigious FIA World Motor Sport Council.

This in particular is good news for the Indian F1 followers as the Indian F1 GP is still in the making. FIA not only organises F1 but many other motorsport events, GP2 series being the second most popular to which India could be a possible host to.

The liqour and aviation tycoon of India has been closely associated to sports in general, F1 as well as IPL.

Following the election of the FIA President, the FIA General Assembly elected remaining members of the FIA World Councils to serve for the next four years.
