Much like Mercedes GP and Mclaren, should Vijay Mallya's Force India Formula1 Team actually go the nationality route and employ Indian drivers?

Why Neel, did he consider himself to be an Indian athlete/racer till the opportunity came at FIF1? Why did he not consider joining the Indian A1GP team?

The point is that Mallaya should and would go for a driver irrespective of nationality and then there is the money factor, if he is good but cannot bring the needed money to the team and some else who is equally good can do it, then that guy will get the chance.

I would love to see an Indian driving Force India car, but then not at the cost of seeing Force India always on 19th and 20th position. As of now, I don't think (may be atleast am not aware of) there are many indian drivers who can compete to the current F1 champions. Now priority is definitely to see Force India to be a No. 1 car irrespective of who is driving the car. smilies/smiley.gif

Well F1 was made for 'Constructors Championship' so I really dont think an Indian team should necessarily have an Indian driver.
Rather VM should spend bucks on getting the best drivers, they had the best engine in F1 in 2009 and there is little doubt that Mercedes will offer anything less in 2010.
Build the team rather than making it Indian. No offense but India surely cannot match the drivers/mechanics/team managers coming from Germany.

Yep, you said it. And I support Neel more for his talent than his nationality. He was the fastest of the lot that were put through the paces. That his nationality is half Indian is only the added benefit - or so to say

A new team owned by VJM should not look at rookies, rather get some experienced driver, at this stage after showing some nice results in 2009 season.

The question of course is of money - should they divert funds towards car development? or procure talent? What would you do? smilies/cheesy.gif

not necessary we need to hav an indian in force india. As long as a driver is good and can use the car to its potential to win a race (irrespective of his nationality)thas all force india needs . and if its an indian who can do this then all the better.

lot of potential in the pipeline. and VJM eyes are open for sure.its jus a matter of time i suppose. or maybe VJM has better plans.

Yeah. Could possibly be!! But if Karun does as well as he's done in the last 2 races, I won't be surprised if he makes it into FIF1 next year. And with the car doing so well this year, he could target podiums next year with FIF1.
