Star Indian footballer and Captain of National Football team, Bhaichung Bhutia is all set to give the country a Football school, called Bhaichung Bhutia Football School.

Bhaichung Bhutia, popularly known as "Sikkimese Sniper", will open the school in partnership with Carlos Queiroz, a renowned manager from Portugal. He has decided to open the school on account of lack of proper training facilities and opportunities; however at first, the school aims at providing the kids a platform to play and enjoy the game of football.

While speaking to media Bhutia said, "All over the world lots of children are interested in football. Even street children play football. The only thing is that they don't have proper grounds and they are not organised. In a way it is good that underprivileged children in the country will get to play football.

"It will be a non-residential school and I will get a ground in Delhi on lease. 30 per cent of children will be from underprivileged section and the other 70 per cent will have to pay fee. There will be tie-ups with some schools and NGOs to get the children. For the underprivileged ones, NGOs like Magic Bus will provide them.

It will not be a school which will be run to provide professional football but one which will encourage children to take up football and enjoy it. They will also learn the basics of football. The talented ones will be drafted into the professional academy, which I am opening in Kolkata and Sikkim with (Bollywood actor) John Abraham." he added.

Bhaichung Bhutia does not want to restrict himself to New Delhi and wants to expand the project and set up schools in Mumbai, Bangalore and Noida as well.

In order to provide the best training facilities, the 34 year old has tied up with the Carlos Queiroz, a renowned football manager, who has coached Portugal, South Africa and UAE teams along with Real Madrid.

The former Portuguese manager will provide his full support in terms of providing football training and inputs regarding the game to the boys andwill provide two coaches for 360 days to train the children in Delhi so that it gives them a platform to take up the sport professionally.

Speaking about the former Portuguese manager, Carlos Queiroz, he said "Carlos Queiroz is a guy known for grassroot and youth football in Portugal, United States and Manchester United. I have tied up with his academy. His academy is providing two coaches from Portugal to train the children in Delhi for 360 days."

The Bhaichung Bhutia Football School is all set to be officially launched on Saturday Oct 30th. Sportswear giant Nike has come up with a proposal to be kit sponsor as Baichung is the brand ambassador for the company.

Bhaichung Bhutia, who is an Arjuna Awardee and a Padma Shri, is an inspiration to the young football players and kids in India as he is the only player from the country to play professional football in Europe when he signed for English club Bury FC in 1999. He is the most capped player in Indian Football when he played in his 100th International match in Nehru Cup in 2009.
