iSporter Suraj Kori from iSport's very own IPL Paddock writes passionately about his favourite Delhi Daredevils. He truly believes that the team can bag a win and make all DD fans proud this IPL season! Do you agree? Read on!

Delhi-Daredevils

The Delhi Daredevils! They were able to make it to the semi-finals of both seasons of the IPL! What else should I say about this team? The name 'Delhi Daredevils' says it all. They are strong, they are fearless and daring! And according to me a great team for the IPL!

Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir a great opening pair among all the teams and might I add the most destructive too! They complement each other very well. Sehwag is one of the most 'attacking' openers I have ever seen and the various bowlers surely fear this quality! And when it comes to the T20 format of the game there is no one better than him!

Delhi’s middle order is stable enough with a good blend of national and international players. A B de Villiers, Tillakaratane Dilshan, Paul Collingwood, Mithun Manhas and Dinesh Karthik are the players who make the middle order. In the latest transfer window Delhi exchanged Manoj Tiwary with Moises Henriques of Kolkata Knight Riders. Henriques is a young and a good all-rounder and he being in the middle order has provided more depth to the batting line up.

One thing that the Daredevils shouldn’t have done was giving Manoj Tiwary to Knight Riders. He is a talented and a promising player. He would have done wonders with this team. The other mistake that Delhi did was that they bought out Australian legend Glenn McGrath. Even at this age he can be a challenge to any top class batsmen in the world! The entire last season he was on the bench but his sheer presence in the team I feel has helped the bowlers a lot. His experience might have come into play in important encounters. There are other bowlers like Dirk Nannes and Ashish Nehra who have been performing quite effectively! And not to forget, it was this performance by Nehra for DD last season that earned him a place in the Indian team after a long period of time!

DD also bought Wayne Parnell who has just made his debut for the South African team. He is young and has already started doing wonders for his national side and the same would be expected from him in this IPL team. DD has also got efficient domestic fast bowlers in the name of Avishkar Salvi and Yo Mahesh. Daniel Vettori has been leading the spin attack and he has also got some good support from local boy Amit Mishra. Vettori at present is among the best all-rounders in the world and this definitely would help the team!

Even after having such a strong side DD has not been able to make it to any of the finals of IPL. Delhi Daredevils has got the players and they have caliber too to win a tournament. Hopefully this season they perform well and bag an IPL win to their credibitlity!

I am proud to be a Daredevil fan!

I support the Delhi Daredevils! Do you?
