Leave Sourav, 'My Dada' Alone!

From the iSport Cricket Paddock: iSporter Chirag Mansukhani was filled with rage with the very many allegations made against the captain of KKR and our very own 'Dada'. A die-hard Ganguly fan speaks up as he cannot withstand the accusations anymore!

The Prince of Kolkata has been under much criticism lately from anyone and everyone. Let’s face it, in a cricket crazy nation all of us have an opinion on what should happen and how people should play and sure..why not? Well my message to everyone is please leave my “DADA” alone and let him play his game.

The Bengal Tiger has come under the scanner lately for his poor performance in the IPL season 3. Must I remind everyone that Sourav is arguably the 'best' captain that India has ever had. He has had a tremendous and illustrious career to say the least and knows everything there is to know about cricket and how to bounce back. After losing captaincy and his place in the Indian team he made his comeback in South Africa and proved his metal yet again. What upsets me more is that while the Kolkata Knight Riders were winning.. all was well. It is because of the last three losses that Sourav has been put under pressure.

I’m not implying that one should rely just on past laurels but let me say one thing; cricket is a team game and over the last three games the entire team has underperformed. So to blame only the captain would be unfair. Furthermore, Sourav is
still a very able leader. To respond to his critics, Sourav fired 50 off 40 balls against the Kings XI Punjab and lead his side to victory. People have even commented saying that he shouldn’t be in the team in the first place, such is his abysmal performance. I would respectfully disagree; his form is not great but is by far not the worst in the side. Leaving Sourav out of the team would be out of the question!

As far as his critics are concerned his 50 against the Kings XI should have mellowed their tongues for a bit; or so I hope. It’s only a matter of time before DADA proves his metal and keeps the critics at bay. DADA will answer, but that answer shall come with his bat.

Hence, I think that everyone should stop giving the Prince of Kolkata so much flake for not performing and allow him to settle in. Yes, T20 is fast paced. If he is given his time he will prove all of us wrong with his abilities, might I add on the positive side only. Most importantly, have faith. I sure do. Go DADA!!!

Do not provoke a wounded tiger is my message to all. The Bengal tiger will strike back as he has always done and will lead his side to a Champions League Spot for sure. Yes I predict that DADA and his team will finish in the top 3 in this season’s IPL. All I can say is that Sourav and KKR are very much in the race to win the IPL this year, so do not discount the Prince and his Kolkata Knightriders. Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo!

You have not given any valid reasons for ur arguments....yes we know he has been one of the best captain, yes he has been the second best to play ODIs for India but all that he has been.........as about Dada being blamed for the losses.....i think it was truly his and the management's fault.....their tactics were dismal......ending up with 135/3 against Royals chasing 165. I mean its criminal to do that. Ending up with 155/2 at Brabourne with Gayle there after the start that they had got off to. Their batting tactics hav been dismal. Even yesterday Dada's innings lacked character nd when we thought he wud push on nd fire the KKR to a huge total he was dismissed ordinarily. I am a big fan of Dada but I feel he is definitely past his prime. His tactics and his batting look like they lack any impetus.

Let us not mix two things up ..

Dada has been a great captain .. He used to be a superlative batsman too.

But right now he is clueless and struggling to justify his place in the side.

The likes of Sangakarra , Yuvraj , Mahela ( damn .. all from the Kings XI ) , too arent scoring.. But there is a difference. A difference which anyone who has seen cricket for a decent span of time will realise..

It was painful to see his innings against RR.. And even the ones before and after that. He cannot hit them big as he used to.. And if he comes in the middle order , it becomes even tougher for him to get the ball of the square.. mishitting the shots between 2 fielders seems to be his pnly way of scoring runs..
His running between the wickets and fitness , is dismal to the point of being embarassing. Though he deserves full credit for that blinder to get tiwary..

He needs pace to hit the ball , and that can happen only if he continues opening.. that is his only chance (if at all)

would love to see him score big and shut people like me up. but i don't see that happening..

One of the reasons why KKR lost the 3 matches they did was that they did not use their resources to the optimum. Angelo Mathews can hit the ball a fair distance. Why should he be held back and not promoted at the top of the order? Playing Mandeep Singh and Harpreet Singh was inexplicable. Why not Vidyut ? Why drop Tiwary in the first place ? Some questions which I would surely want to hear being answered to from Dada.
