Two deliveries later, Russell cleaned up Amit Mishra making it 246 for 8. Roach then had Vinay Kumar caught behind for two before Russell got the final and his fourth wicket cleaning up Ishant Sharma in the 48th over and restricting India to 251.

Simmons top edged and sliced one down to third man off Vinay Kumar. Adrian Barath, who survived two dropped chances, then added 41 runs from 11 overs with Sarwan before being trapped leg before by an Amit Mishra googly.
