An injury time strike from Nani helped Manchester United charge back from two goals down to record an incredible 3-2 win over Manchester City and lift the Community Shield cup at Wembley Stadium.

The teams went into the match with following Line-ups:

Manchester City:  Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov, De Jong, Toure Yaya, Silva, Milner, Balotelli, Dzeko

Substitutes: Taylor, Wright-Phillips, Adam Johnson, Savic, Aguero, Barry, Clichy.

Manchester United: De Gea, Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Anderson, Young, Rooney, Welbeck.

Substitutes: Lindegaard, Jones, Berbatov, Park, Rafael Da Silva, Evans, Cleverley.

Manchester United started off aggressively, but against the run of play, City opened the scoring in the 38th minute via Lescott, when Silva whipped in a beautiful free kick from the right, Lescott climbed highest to glance his header home.

City doubled their lead in the first-half stoppage time via a spectacular 25-yard drive from Dzeko, who was given far too much space in midfield and allowed to hit a 25-yard  shot to which keeper De Gea appeared to react too slowly, diving after the ball had flown past him.

A resurgent United made three changes in the half-time, bringing new signing Phil Jones and Jonny Evans in place of Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Tom Cleverley in place of Michael Carrick. United struck back in the second half when Young's curling ball in was diverted home by defender Smalling from six yards in the 52nd minute. Six minutes later, United levelled the scoring as Cleverly, Rooney, Welback and Nani opened City up with a series of short passes before Nani drove home with a delicate chip.  A series of attacking waves from United paid rich dividends when a blunder by Kompany helped Nani to race through one on one with the goal keeper, sidestepping him and sliding home the winner in the injury time to make it 3-2.
