Asian Games Update : Indian rowers continued their impressive show at the Asian Games as they won a Gold, a Silver and a Bronze on the seventh day of the event in Guangzhou, China.

India's Bajrang Lal Takhar created history and made India proud as he clinched the first ever Gold in rowing for India in the men's single sculls event.
Takhar, who had become the first Indian to win a silver medal at the Doha Asian Games in 2006 and also the gold medal at the Asian Championships in Korea last year, Started in lane 3 and led the 2000m race right from the start and went on to win with a timing of 7:04.78 ahead of Chinese Taipei's Wang Ming Hui (7:07.33), who won the Silver and Iraq's Haeider Hamarasheid (7:10.10), who won the bronze.
After Bajrang Lal's achievement, it was the turn of the women rowers as Pratima and Pramila won Bronze as they finished third with a timing of 7:47.50sec behind the Chinese pair of Zhengping Sun and Hong Ling, who clinched the Gold after clocking 7:22.06sec and the Kazakh duo of Oxana Nazarova and Svetlana Germanovich, who won Silver with a timing of 7:35.13sec.
The Indian rowers then won a silver medal in the men's eight event as the team of Girraj Singh, Saji Thomas, Lokesh Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Ranjit Singh, Satish Joshi and Jenil Krishnan finished second behind China with a timing of 5:49.50.
