Ever seen a person dancing but you can't hear the music? But he can hear it clear and loud that's what I believe you would feel watching Ronaldo play and creating chaos in the penalty area. iSporter Srijan Choudhary debuts with a tribute to The Ronaldo!

 ronaldo_500_500

I still remember it was the summer of 2002 and world cup fever was reaching its peak and the hair style in demand by most of my friends in one form or another was the triangular hair style that time carried by a man at his peak worldwide known as Ronaldo.

It wouldn't be wrong if I said he was one of the most prolific striker even before present day superstars Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rooney ever existed. Who would have thought a kid born in Rio de Janeiro would one day mesmerize everyone in the world with his goal finishing instincts, his crossovers, his speed and his ability to score when most of the people least expected.

The man who has scored 352 goals in 515 appearances for the clubs that most of the young soccer stars dream of playing for starting from Cruzeiro, PSV, Barcelona, Inter, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Corinthians is surely one of the best striker that any generation must have seen and would ever see for the time to come. He single handedly took Brazil to 2002 World Cup glory and scoring 2 goals in the final against one of the worlds best goal keeper Oliver Kahn of Germany while this maestro had only let three goals through out of which 2 were scored by Ronaldo this shows and defines the poacher in Ronaldo.

I remember the time in '98 World Cup when Brazil lost to France 3-0 but many people don't know the real story that the night before this high flying brazilian has suffered a conclusive fit he was removed from starting 11 but requested to be reinstated that's the courage of a human who was not ready to give up and his passion to play such a beautiful game which gave him the strength to stand and fight.

Ronaldo started his journey at Cruzeiro at the age of 17 after being turned down by his boyhood favourite club Flamengo and came into the world scene then and there scoring 12 goals in 13 matches. Soon he was on his way to the Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven. Then to the Catalan giants Barcelona when there was no Messi no Villa no Pedro then this man alone gave the world one of the most amazing never imagined season to witness in their life scoring 47 goals in just 49 matches and people thought he was there to stay.

But before the Barcelona fans could even end up with their celebration for winning UEFA cup, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España they got the shocking news of Ronaldo being sold to Italian giants Internazionale but his stay there was overshadowed by his knee injuries which kept him out of most of the 2000-2001 season but you just can't keep the good man down. After two operations and months of rehabilitation, Ronaldo came back for the 2002 World Cup, helping Brazil win their fifth World Cup title. Soon after the world cup he decided to be another of those stars to join Madrid along with other Galacticos Zidane, Figo, Beckham and his fellow countrymen Roberto Carlos and there also his numbers spoke on his behalf.

But soon people started forgetting the laurels this man had gathered throughout his life and critics started making remarks on his weight and his personal life. That is when once the brightest Brazilian star started to fade away which forced him to quit Madrid and join AC Milan. But it's said those who can put you on your head for who you are,  can also throw you away and also never look back.  And now after a career which has lasted for 18 long years this long forgotten maestro is going to hang his boots at Corinthians.

He is the man with all the honours that the recent soccer stars dream of starting from FIFA world player of the year thrice , twice Ballon d'Or  winner, 1994 and 2002 world cup winner, World cup golden boot winner, UEFA cup winner, Dutch league winner, Spanish La liga winner and many more uncountable number of honours. For me Ronaldo has always been a player who has carried the burden of his club and his country on his shoulder and has never failed to perform on any stage. And he is not 'THE OTHER RONALDO' he is 'THE RONALDO IL FENOMENO'.

I would like to end with one of the famous quote by this famous icon himself:

"I LOVE TO SCORE GOALS AFTER PASSING ALL THE DEFENDERS AS WELL AS THE KEEPER. THIS IS NOT MY SPECIALITY, BUT MY HABIT."
