From the iSport Cricket Paddock: Cricketing action continues as the World Cup T20 begins soon. iSporter Jigar Mehta pens his starter poem for this years' T20!

Carnival is back again on beaches and sands,
With typical trumpets & hip hop bands,
Bringing back entertainment onto the cricketing stands,
Proudly presenting T20 World cup hosts Caribbean Islands.

Every team is out to make a big name,
In the shortest format; T20 is the name of the game,
Boundaries & sixes it will heavily rain,
And bowlers lives will never be the same.

The 2007 starter saw the Windies fail,
Despite a brilliant century from the captain Gayle
This year let’s hope their start would be great,
Beating the Irish; surprise team in last year’s super 8.

2007 saw the tournament shock of the day,
A day on which the underdogs had the very last say,
The 50 over champs were in complete disarray,
Convincingly beaten by the minnows Zimbabwe!

This time round a similar defeat would be sour,
Let’s hope the Kangaroo’s will sit back & Bangladeshi Tigers will roar!
The Lankan team is strong & can make things happen,
Lucky to have Malinga; T20’s most lethal weapon

These 2009 runners up will be dangerous when spin and pace combine,
Let’s hope this time round Vittori’s kiwis do shine!
Post 2009 the Men in Blue will put in a gargantuan effort,
We will have dinner in African safari and an Afghan Des(s) ert.
Super 8's & England pray well to the lord if again we meet,
The last time you were lucky to win by the skin of your teeth,
So what if we are without our in form God…
Yuvi will make sure you are in the history books once again ‘Mr. Stuart Broad’.

In this competition the Kangaroo’s have let themselves down,
The only jewel missing out of their beautiful crown,
Well this year too the crown will not find this jewel to shine,
Because when India is on a roll; you will need a miracle & intervention divine!

Our captain cool will be marshalling his young troops,
A great entertainment watching highest run getter play the ‘Dilscoops’.
We are the former champions; we can give any team a scare,
Let’s be underdogs again & Mr. Captain please grow back your lucky long hair!

Finals and bring on the Champions of 2009,
May 16th is the date when India will bring the cup back to its shrine…..
Last over hero ‘Jogi’ was 2007’s tournament surprise
On this occasion too a new young kid will be on a rise…

Fighting like champions, forgetting last years pain,
Making sure that immense hard work does not go in vain,
If it goes to the last over & follows the 2007 chain,
Combining team work and each and every brain,
We will make sure that Misbah plays the same ‘miscued scoop shot’ again!
