It was a truly majestic performance from the King himself as Roger Federer notched up yet another victory - the 16th Grand Slam victory of his career with a win against Andy Murray of Great Britain 6-3 6-4 7-6 (11).

Federer started off confidently breaking the Scot in his first service game only to find Murray break back immediately. However, Federer was to break again in the eighth game taking the lead 5-3. The Swiss maestro then served for the first set taking it 6-3.

The second set continued to be much of the same with Federer breaking the Murray serve early in the second set and eventually taking the second set 6-4 courtesy that early break of serve.

Just when it seemed that Murray’s frustrations would continue he fought back breaking Federer and consolidating his service break to lead 5-2. While Murray looked to be marching away in the third set, it seemed that King Federer had no intentions of playing yet another. He crawled back into the set leveling it up at 5-5 and forced a tie-break. The tie-break saw some of the best tennis of the match with Murray not letting up and fighting hard till the very end. The tie-break was probably where the most entertaining tennis of the match was played with Federer eventually coming out on top taking the breaker and the match with a 13-11 win.

Federer hit 46 winners and converted four of his twelve break point opportunities while Murray converted two of his eight chances.

Federer was ecstatic to say the least after his win and the father of twin girls had much to be proud about. On the other hand, Murray was left disappointed with himself and what could have been. The Scotsman took it bravely in his stride and I have no doubt that the young Brit will have his Grand Slam success soon enough. But for now, the man of the moment is none other then the Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer. Go Fedex!!
