Cricket Update from the iSport Cricket Paddock: Kevin Pietersen (213*) hit a brilliant unbeaten double century to torment Australia and help England take a commanding first innings lead of 306 before rain stopped play on third day of the second Ashes Test in Adelaide.

Resuming the day on 317 for 2, overnight not out batsmen Cook and Pietersen added 34 runs before Cook was caught behind off Ryan Harris for 148 to end 17-and-a-half hours of marathon unbeaten batting since he was dismissed in the first innings at the Gabba.
Cook hit 148 off 269 deliveries with 18 hits to the fence.
The pair had put on 175 runs for the third wicket.
Meanwhile, Pietersen continued to dominate Australian bowling and brought up his first Test century in 18 matches with a single off Harris.
He then brought up his 150 before lunch as England went into lunch on 449 for 3.
Pietersen had a scare when he was on 91 as Australia requested a review of a refused leg-before-wicket appeal but replays showed that Harris's delivery had hit him outside the line of the wickets.
Pietersen and Paul Collingwood then added 101 runs for the fourth wicket in just 21 overs before the latter was out leg before wicket to Shane Watson for 42 three overs after lunch.
Pietersen then brought up his second double century of his career with a single off spinner Xavier Doherty.
He then put on 99 unbeaten runs and made sure that England ended a blistering day at the Adelaide Oval on 551-4 in response to Australia's 245, 306 runs ahead, before rain stopped play on third day.
Pietersen was unbeaten on 213 off 296 deliveries with 31 hits to the fence and one over it, while Ian Bell was unbeaten on 41 off 76 balls with six hits to the fence.
At stumps on Day 3: Australia: 245/10; England: 551/4
