From the iSport Cricket Pavilion: As Australia completes a series whitewash over India, the fans begin to vent their frustration on everyone connected with Indian Cricket. iSporter Karan Mundul shares his views on the advantage home teams have over visiting teams.

Normally I would join in the criticism except that I am puzzled by the results. This is a team that won the World Cup at home, then loses every game in England, then thrashes England & West Indies at home before being annihilated by Australia down under.  What is even more puzzling is that India isn't the only team struggling to perform away from home.

Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen combined scored 1037 runs in 6 test innings against India in England. The same duo has scored a combined 53 runs in 4 test innings in Dubai. Virender Sehwag scored 218 in 8 test innings in Australia. Barely a month earlier in made 219 in an ODI at home. Sri Lanka was bowled out for 43 runs. Australia bowled out for 47. England bowled out for 72. These are not healthy signs for world cricket.

Below is a list of cricket series been played since the last World Cup. The list does not include tours involving Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Ireland.

As seen above barring Australia every cricketing nation has been humiliated away from home. This raises the question as to why this is happening. Is it due to lack of preparation by teams when they travel to different countries? Are wickets being prepared to suit the needs of host nations more than ever before? Whatever the reason the ICC and the respective cricket boards need to rectify the situation before every series becomes a one sided affair.
