From the iSport Cricket Pavilion: Rains played spoil sport on day two of the second test at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados as only 25.3 overs were allowed to be bowled due to Regular showers and fading light. But India made the most of the time, picking up two West Indies wickets as the home side ended the day on 98 for 5.

West Indies resumed the day on 30 for 3, 171 runs behind the visitors and got off to a scratchy start as Sarwan scored the first boundary of the day via an edge through third slip off Ishant Sharma. Night-watchman, Bishoo, then edged one past third slip and gully for boundary as neither Vijay nor Kohli went for the catch. Sharma then struck in the 18th over removing Bishoo, caught at gully via a short of length marginally outside off stump delivery, which Bishoo played with an angled face but hit it straight towards Kohli who made no mistake.

Bishoo made 13 from 18 deliveries with one hit to the fence. Sharma made it two in the over when he trapped Sarwan in front, off the last delivery of the over to make it 57 for 5. Sharma bowled a full, angling in delivery which was headed for middle and off stump, Sarwan (18) looking to play down the wrong line, completely missed it and was trapped plumb in front. Ishant Sharma has now removed Sarwan for the third time in 24 deliveries in this series. The session was shortened by 45 minutes and the pair of Marlon Samuels and Chanderpaul made sure that there were no more slip ups as the home side went into lunch at 82 for 5.

After Lunch, the pair played cautiously and the runs were scored in ones and twos coupled with an odd boundary as the pair added 41 runs from 19 overs for the sixth wicket. After only 8.3 overs post lunch, rain interrupted play again and this made sure that no further play was possible for the day. The entire day yielded just five boundaries, 68 runs and two wickets in 25.3 overs as West Indies ended the day on 98 for 5, trailing by 103 runs with 5 wickets remaining. Chanderpaul remained unbeaten on 20, while Samules remained unbeaten on 21.

At stumps on day 2:

India 1st inns: 201/10, West Indies 1st inns: 98/5
