From the iSport Cricket Pavilion: A fighting innings of 73 by Darren Bravo coupled with a gritty innings of 46* by Carlton Baugh and bad light helped West Indies draw the second test following Ishant Sharma's superb 10-wicket haul in the test match, ending the day 5 on 202 for 7 before bad light stopped play with 10 overs still to be bowled at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

India resumed the day on 229 for 3, leading by 240 runs and got off to a bad start losing Virat Kohli in just the second over of the day, caught at second slip off Edwards. Kohli played a loose drive away from his body to a short of length delivery outside off and managed to edge it to Sammy at second slip. Laxman then got into the act hitting a lucky boundary through third slip off Edwards and then top edged one through Gully for another one. He added 15 runs to his overnight score of 72 before he edged one straight to second slip off Edwards in the 97th over with the score on 247. Dhoni lasted just 14 balls before he spooned one to mid off, giving Edwards his fifth wicket of the innings. Raina and Harbhajan Singh added another 16 runs in 20 deliveries before Dhoni finally declared on 269, setting up a target of 281 for the home side.
In reply, West Indies got off to an aggressive start as Barath started off with a lucky boundary via an inside edge off Praveen Kumar in the first over. Simmons then put Ishant Sharma to cleaners, at first flicking him for a boundary through square leg and then slashed one through point coupled with a lucky inside edge to fine leg boundary in Sharma's next over. Sharma hit back in the very next delivery, having Simmons caught in slips for 14. Simmons wanted to drive off the front foot, but wasn't to the pitch of the ball, edging one to Dravid at slip. Praveen Kumar then got the important wicket of Sarwan two overs later, caught at third slip for 8. Out of nowhere, Barath hit Mithun for a maximum over point and flicked Harbhajan for boundary through square leg as West Indies went into lunch at 51 for 2 with Barath not out on 23.
After Lunch, West Indies received a huge blow as Ishant Sharma removed Barath, caught at third slip off the second over after lunch. Bravo, who was playing cautiously then opened up in the 26th over, hitting two boundaries off Mithun one through extra cover and other through fine leg. The pair of Bravo and Chanderpaul added 57 runs in the session as West Indies went into tea at 108 for 3 requiring 173 more runs to win with 7 wickets in hand and 38 overs to go.
Bravo and Chanderpaul added 54 runs from 29 overs before a howler from Ian Gould made sure that Chanderpaul's 87-ball struggle for 12 runs was cut short midway. He was given out leg before wicket off Harbhajan Singh but was unlucky as the ball was clearly missing the off stump by miles. Bravo then brought up his half-century from 120 deliveries as he and Samuels added 23 runs for the fifth wicket before Sharma had Samuels trapped in front for 9 reducing the home side to 132 for 5. Bravo continued his surge as he hit a Lara-style extra cover drive off Ishant Sharma. Baugh then got into the act hitting Harbhajan Singh for boundary through point and a maximum over midwicket and then caressing Mithun for three back-to-back boundaries. Rain interupped play for a little while after the 64th over but after the break, Mithun struck a crucial blow, removing Bravo caught behind for 73 in the 71st over. The pair had shared a crucial stand of 69 from 16.5 overs. Things got worse for West Indies when Ishant trapped Sammy leg before wicket via an inswinging full delivery to make it 202 for 7 and with ten overs to go and three wickets remaining, India were in with a chance but a delivery later bad light stopped play and play was called off for the day which meant the test match was drawn. India lead the series 1-0 going into the third and final test.
Ishant Sharma was named the man of the match for his ten wicket haul in the test match.
