From the iSport Cricket Pavilion: Rains played spoil sport on day one of the first test at Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominicaas as only 31.1 overs were allowed to be bowled due to persistent rains. But India made the most of the time, picking up three West Indies wickets as the home side ended the day on 75 for 3.

India won the toss, elected to field and got off to a good start picking up the wicket of Kieran Powell with just 17 runs on the board. West Indies had started off cautiously adding just 17 runs from eight overs before Powell edged an outsiwnger to Laxman at second slip. A brilliant spell of swing bowling from Praveen Kumar and Munaf Patel was well complemented by Ishant Sharma, who struck in his first over, removing Barath, for 12 in the 13th over. Barath chopped one on to the stumps off a shortish delivery from Sharma.
Kirk Edwards didn't last long as four overs later he was caught behind off Sharma for 6 after failing to connect a bouncer. It seemed as if Edwards was unlucky as replays suggested that the ball went off the helmet rather than bat or glove. Chanderpaul received a standing ovation on his way to the crease for becoming the most capped player for West Indies. The pair of Darren Bravo and Chanderpaul added 40 runs from 14 overs before rain interrupted play and this made sure that no further play was possible for the day. The entire day yielded just five boundaries, 75 runs and three wickets in 31.1 overs as West Indies ended the day on 75 for 3. Chanderpaul remained unbeaten on 17, while Bravo remained unbeaten on 22.
