Spanish League Update : A dull, boring and draggy game summarized the entire 90 minutes of 'action' between Levante and Real Madrid as iSporter Karan Shah analyses Saturday night's game.

Suddenly, Real Madrid, the team with massive defensive frailties has turned into the team with the best defense in the League. That would be an advantage in itself for Los Blancos, but a further look at statistics show that Madrid has the worst offence in the League so far. A first timer for Los Blancos but their strikers have been misfiring since the start of the season.
Last night's was no different as Madrid mustered a proud 26 shots on goal without finding the net even once. This does indicate that the Whites were enjoying most of the possession in the game compared to a Levante side that were more than happy just defending, but it also indicates, how individualistic Madrid's players were.
The offense looked completely lost on the pitch and on every occasion just seemed to run with the ball and shoot at goal, hoping it would go in or catch a lucky deflection. Embarrassingly, not once did they manage to have 26 completed shots before shooting at goal.
True, their game is pretty direct, true they're a young team but the players on the pitch themselves have proven so far how individualistic the 'team' has been so far. A disappointing display of football, a dismal 0-0 result and Marca and AS might already be sharpening their swords against Mourinho's boys.
The game in itself was nothing to write home about, with the usual shots on goal, flicks n tricks, counter attacks, neat defending but the end result? A bunch of confused forwards on the pitch, a confused president, a confused coach who pretends he knows what he's doing and well, confused Madridistas.
Die hard fans must be crying 'paciencia mi amigo' to the critics but what puts off the fans is the attitude of the players. Nobody wants to do the hard work and everybody wants the limelight. A lot of work has to be done and so far the coach's hard work can be seen only in the defense. The attack has been wayward, and absolutely un Real Madrid-ly like.
Personally analyzing each player, Higuain was by far the worse player on the pitch. Ronaldo was a lot better than most of his teammates but was nowhere close to his personal best. Again, the defense for both teams was amazing and the ball was more often than not stuck in the midfield but Real Madrid is Real Madrid and a draw is never sufficient. The 0 - 0 result is a clear reminder to Jose Mourinho that if Los Merengues don't buck up, the alarm bells are ringing.
