Barcelona have agreed a 40 million euros deal for David Villa with Valencia! He will move to Nou Camp on a 4 year-contract. Villa is the first summer transfer for Barca. He is expected to reach Barcelona on Thursday and will have a medical on Friday. iSporter Suraj Kori reports.

David Villa

Some elite clubs of Europe such as Man Utd, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid had been eyeing this Spaniard striker but Villa chose to go with Barca.

Villa has been doing wonders for Valencia since his arrival at the club. He scored an amazing 25 goals in 35 La Liga games in his first season itself to finish one goal short of the league's top scorer Samuel Eto'o. He has also made a mark playing for his national side, Spain. He topped the scoring sheet in Euro 2008 with 6 goals in the tournament in spite of missing the final.

David Villa would really boost the morale of La Liga champions Barcelona. And if we believe the rumors in the transfer market than with the entry of Cesc Fabregas the Braca side is expected to only get even stronger.

David Silva

He would be playing with the likes of Messi and Ibrahimovic at Barca. And who would not want to play with such great players? With such players already a regular part of the squad he will have to put in consistent performance... He will surely have to play exceptionally well if he doesn't want to be overshadowed by players in the team! With the talent and skill that he possesses, he should be a regular part of the starting 11.

Barca will be facing the problem of having too many options for each position. Their defense seems quite stable with Puyol and Pique doing their job exceptionally well. Dani Alves has been great at Right back and Abidal at Left back. But the problem arises at midfield... Iniesta, Xavi, Sergio and Fabregas (if he comes at Nou Camp) would have to strive hard to make it to the starting 11.

A constant fight between Villa, Ibrahimovic and Henry is expected for a place in the starting 11. I am expecting Barca to sell off Henry making way for the other two forwards to fight for their place.

Villa has already proved his worth at international level and Barca would be expecting a same show from him at the Nou Camp. But we will have to wait until the next season to see what he has in for Barca...
