Ramires is a 23 year old Brazilian midfielder representing Benfica. But he is on the verge of a dream move to England giant Chelsea! Chelsea has made a bid of 20 million Euro for the Brazilian star. If everything goes right then it is just a matter of time that he appears in Blue jersey.
He has a Bronze medal to his name, which he won at the 14th Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China. He had a remarkable first season with Benfica, where he won the league and cup double.
Ramires also known as 'Blue Kenyan' got this name at Cruzeiro, due to their blue strip and the fans said that he had the fortitude of a Kenyan marathon runner. He came into the limelight with a surprise inclusion in the Dunga's men for the World Cup. He did prove his worth at the World Cups impressing one and all with his game! The most impressive was his play in the goal scored by Robinho at the World Cup against Chile. Ramires took possession of the ball near the half-line and then tackled through the Chile defense to set up the goal for Robinho, who fired the ball at the back of the net.
Chelsea was interested in him even before the World Cup commenced! He is known for his quick run with the ball and is good at dogging too. He might prove to be a great asset to Chelsea considering the fact that Micheal Ballack and Joe Cole are out of the team after ending their respective contracts. Even Deco is expected to make a move back to Brazil and with the exclusion of these world-class midfielders, Carlo Ancelotti is in search of a player who can fill-in their boots... He shouldn't find it difficult to make a place in the playing 11 with the absence of these players.
Ramires is young and fast and can prove the apt choice for Ancelotti's squad! Ancelotti has got in Yossi Benayoun from Liverpool but Ramires can prove to be a good signing for the fact that he is young and can play in different positions. He might even prove to be a great inspiration to bring in his national team-mate Kaka. Kaka could be the man who could make Chelsea's squad one the most feared ones in world...
There were rumors of even Manchester City being interested in this play maker! But Chelsea certainly seems to have the edge over Man City, as Ramires is interested in Chelsea.
It would be interesting to see whether Chelsea can retain the EPL championship without Ballack, Joe Cole and Deco who were an important part of the Chelsea midfield. A lot would be expected from this Brazilian and he would be expecting to deliver from very start of the season.
