iSporter Arppit Gupta previews the 3rd Quarter Final game of the FIFA World Cup 2010 between Argentina and Germany.

Argentina and Germany both these teams were unarguably surrounded by controversies with their qualifications for the quarterfinals spot in the tournament.
First Lampard's goal was disallowed by the Uruguayan linesman which could have easily turned the game in its head against Germany and then Tevez's offside goal given by the Italian referee albeit he saw the replay on the big screen. But then, this is football and controversies have always been a part of the World cup.
Everything said and done, England never deserved to go through to the next round and Mexico maybe should have been given a fair chance but in the end The Albicelestes played some more attracting football through out the tournament.
And here we are eagerly waiting to witness a mouth watering clash between a young side led by Philip Lahm under curator Joachim Löw and a side with maximum (10) goals in this edition of the cup, boasting the most dangerous attacking front with Messi, Tevez and Higuain. And most importantly the Argentines are under the guidance of the biggest patriot we could come across in the footballing world, Diego Maradona.
The Germans with the tall Miroslav Klose in their side combined with Philip Lahm's crosses could prove lethal for the relatively shorter Argentines in the air, luckily the Argentine defense isn't as short as their offense is. The deadly duo of Mesut Oezil and Thomas Muller in the right flank could run riot in the opponent's defense and in Argentina's case their defense have proved to be the weakest link.
Demicheles have been lucky that his offense was strong enough to recover from what could have been proved a costly lapse in the game against S.Korea. But otherwise the Argentine defense with their goal keeper Romero look more rusty and need to grease up their hinges else this German side would split Maradona's boys open.
Maradona has already begun his mind games off the pitch by touting this game as a revenge for 2006 world cup exit at the hands of Germany at the same stage of the competition.
He was raining tears after losing the finals of the world cup to the same opponents back in 1990, this after the Argentines led by Maradona beat Germany 3-2 in the 1986 finals of the world cup. So without a spot of doubt these two sides have a history between them and would be all guns blazing to undo each other at Green point stadium tonight.
With Podolski having looked like he has left the ghost of that missed penalty against Serbia behind him and Messi in search of that all important goal that still eludes him which would make tons of difference to his game and end his frustration which is creeping up quite understandably, this looks like one we wont be able to take our eyes off from.
Nevertheless Messi would be the most marked man on the pitch with his quick movements and ability to find the space on the pitch and deadly assists doubled by breathtaking strikes.
This indeed would be a cracker of a game with no favorites to choose from. But still I believe the Argentines would edge "JUST" past the Germans in this Clash of the "TITANS".
