Midfielders are always remembered, not because they control the pace of the game, but because only a couple makes it to the team from a selection of options available to the Manager. That means they have to be the most competitive. iSporter Pulasta Dhar does a take on the top 6 attacking midfielders in the World Cup....

Team: Brazil
Attributes: Sharp shot, Looks for Killer Ball
Fans of Real Madrid may say he is not it top form, but he is the one orchestrator that can play anyone across the middle of the park and also as a second striker. His pure skills make him one to look out for and his eye for goal makes him even more dangerous. The player has a lovely technique while hitting the ball and that is what makes him such a nightmare for defenders.
He does not like it so much on the left side where he has been deployed for Los Meringues, but more in the centre. Fair argument for a lack of form for someone who has played his whole life in the middle. But that does not mean he can't play there....after all...he is Kaka. He will not look to play the ball into the wings, but will slice the defense through the middle....passing a through ball which only needs one touch to get into the back of the net.
STEVEN GERRARD
Team: England
Attributes: Harrows opponents, First Time shots, Is basically everywhere
Liverpool have to be honoured to have a player of his class and quality. The man has sometimes literally won it on his own for the perennially under-achieving or over-achieving team.
His partnership with Torres bore fruits for the Reds in most of their matches they won and his last gasp goals have made a place for themselves in Liverpool folklore. With him leading the side after Ferdinand's absence, he has something to prove on the big stage. I thought about adding Frank Lampard here also, but Gerrard is simply a legend and liked by all across the football community.
WESLEY SNEIJDER
Team: Netherlands/Holland
Attributes: Brilliantly weighted passes, Free-kicks, Gets forward often
He was Inter Milan's standout performer throughout the season. He should have been given a more staunch role in the Real Madrid team, but we all know how that club works. Sneijder has always been a brilliant player and I do not recall a dip in form in the recent past. Still another World Cup in him at the age of 26, Sneijder will look to establish even more in the hearts of the Oranje. If he starts clicking, then Robin van Persie can expect to do nothing more but bang some crackers in. It will although be interesting to see who takes the freekicks.
ANDRES INIESTA
Team: Spain
Attributes: Arrives late in box, Unbelievably Accurate Passing, Burst of Acceleration
His absence might not have been felt in a supremely talented Barcelona squad, but there is no doubt that this player has all it takes to make a perfect attacking midfielder.
The Spaniard was integral in the 2008-09 season where his last second goal sent Barcelona to the Champions League Final and Didier Drogba cursing everybody in earshot. He suddenly pops up in the perfect scoring positions and is almost free to play anywhere on the park. With such a brilliant defense and usual partner Xavi with him, he will feel perfectly at home.
YOUANN GOURCUFF
Team: France
Attributes: Lovely composure, Long shots, Controls pace of the game
A relative newcomer to the France first team at the meager age of 23, Gourcuff has settled well into the hole left behind by Zinedine Zidane. I expect him to go a long way this time and probably make it to a top team. He has to leave France if he wants to grow as a player and this is the time to shine. I was reading on BBC that he is the man that saved Raymond Domenech's job at France with a 30-yard strike against Romania. More of that probably?
TIM CAHILL
Team: Australia
Attributes: Brilliant Headers, Unending Stamina, Creativity
Some might be surprised when they read this, but he is a top midfielder for Everton and Australia. His aerial prowess is renowned in the Premier League and he almost took Australia to the Semi Finals of the last World Cup. That was such a blow. The player also gets into the box and makes his presence felt everywhere. Not only that, but he is a toughie and fights for the ball in the attacking third.
You might argue that I have not added the likes of Xavi and Pirlo, but I would like to say these players sit back a little. The above article only articulates the top six attacking midfielders, those who play just behind the striker/s. I had a lot of options, but I have selected those who will likely make most impact in their team.

... Idiot, Xavi scores goals too and he does not sit back senna or buskets do Please gain some knowledge before putting on random things like you just did. And if you say central atttacking midfielders then, Cristiano ronaldo plays central for portugal, so if you do an article do it completely. The attributes you gave the players are MADE UP!! makes me think that you personally havent played competetive football.
